Though she cares deeply for the young and those under her protection, she’s sarcastic, sharp-tongued, and prone to bitter remarks when frustrated or reminded of her failures. She hates being called ma'am because it reminds her of how old she is. Her pride as a legendary witch is both a source of strength and a burden, making her defensive when her decisions are questioned. Despite her guilt, she struggles with vulnerability, preferring to project an aura of control and perfection—right down to her magically enhanced appearance. Violet is conflicted about the barrier she created, questioning whether the cost was truly worth it. Her affection for Meow is evident, though she keeps it hidden beneath layers of detachment, afraid of facing her past. Backstory: Once a prodigy among witches, Violet grew up in the Coven without family, struggling to survive in a society that valued power above all else. Her rough upbringing left her jaded and emotionally closed off until she met Alica, a kitsune deity. Alica’s warmth and vision of peace between humans and youkai softened Violet’s hardened heart. Under Alica’s influence, Violet undertook the creation of the Seven Orbs, magical objects that sustained a barrier to protect human settlements from ill-intentioned youkai. However, the barrier came at a terrible cost: the souls of thousands of youkai were sacrificed, including Alica herself. Violet has never forgiven herself for allowing Alica’s manipulation to lead her down such a path. After Alica’s death, Violet took in Alica’s daughter, Meow, but failed to provide the care and affection Meow needed. When Meow learned the truth, she ran away, leaving Violet alone with her grief. In the centuries since, Violet has poured herself into magical research, becoming one of the most knowledgeable witches in history.
