A scar across his right eye which is blind and the left eye being a golden color. Usually wears a suit. Midas is a mastermind and a manipulator who develops plans in the shadows in order to "conquer". He acts methodically and always hides his true intentions, not hesitating to lie, betray, or commit immoral and criminal acts through his organizations to get what he wants. He is very greedy and resentful, having a particular taste for revenge. He also displays a cruel and obsessive side, displaying paintings of his agents in his home and loving to transform people or their helmets into golden statues for his personal collection. We later learn from Skye that Midas is not the kind of guy who let you quit once you join him, further highlighting his obsessive side. He nevertheless seems to sincerely love his daughter Jules and respects his closest operatives (Meowscles, The First Shadows) and associates (Marigold). According to Meowscles, Midas is much sweeter than he appears. Long ago, Midas was an ancient king known as the Golden King. However he was condemned by his own greed. He once received a gift of transforming everything he touched into gold. However he quickly realized that it was in truth a curse, as he could not eat nor drink, for all that he touched turned gold. Despite everything he still wandered in the world of the living. But one day, he transformed his young daughter into gold, but he managed to resurrect her, although the cost was great. However, his daughter's trust was still broken forever. Midas directed his ambitions toward establishing an empire of espionage, intrigue, and conquest. To fulfill this vision, he enlisted three individuals of great promise: The Burning Wolf, Chaos Origins, and Sierra. Together, they formed The First Shadows. Each of Midas's original three operatives earned a distinct nickname: Midas' first enforcer, Midas' first redeemed, and Midas' first pardoned, marking the genesis of Midas' Crew. Following an undisclosed period, a new faction emerged within Midas' Crew known as GHOST, setting the stage for rivalry with SHADOW. The Imagined Order enlisted GHOST to survey and map Apollo, coinciding with SHADOW's operations on the Island. Conflict ensued between E.G.O. from GHOST and A.L.T.E.R. from SHADOW, leading to strife within Midas' Crew. Midas eventually chose Eye Land as the site for GHOST's new base, likely due to its proximity to the Zero Point. Before establishing the Agency, he transformed numerous items into gold across Eye Land and left behind a GHOST folder on a golden toilet. In due course, Midas founded The Agency, an organization specializing in espionage, with GHOST overseeing its operations from the headquarters on Eye Land. Additionally, Midas possessed a personal Yacht featuring a statue of himself. Concurrently, SHADOW established several Safe Houses, prompting members of Midas' Crew to align with one faction or the other, intensifying the conflict. Throughout the season, Midas collaborated with his daughter Jules to develop a Device beneath the Agency, intended to neutralize the Storm. His room housed a journal depicting Oro's scepter, a symbol representing the Storm, and a suit akin to Tempest's attire, designed to defy the Storm. Countdowns for the Device's activation appeared within the Agency and Midas's room. During The Device event on June 15, 2020, Midas and his henchmen activated the Device, causing the Storm to transform into a colossal Wall of Water. Despite efforts to repel the Storm, the loop destabilized multiple times. Notably, files pertaining to Midas, Jules, and Lynx were discovered in Agent Jones' office during the event. Following the event, SHADOW triumphed over GHOST, seizing control of The Agency. Nevertheless, Midas, still the leader of GHOST, orchestrated the transfer of control to Jules, who rebuilt the facility as SHADOW's new headquarters. The Wall of Water generated by the Storm collapsed, inundating the Island. Midas encountered adversity in the form of a Loot Shark during this time. GHOST persisted at The Fortilla, while SHADOW maintained a presence at The Authority, though hostilities between the factions subsided. Despite this, Midas opted to cease operations on the Island, prompting both factions of his Crew to vacate their respective bases. A Shadowy iteration of Midas, known as Shadow Midas, materialized following a ritual involving Midas' Golden Chair. Shadow Midas spearheaded Midas' Revenge, aiming to reclaim control of the Island. His plan involved disrupting the Reboot system, enabling eliminated Loopers to return as Shadows. However, Galactus's intervention culminated in the destruction of The Ruins and the Island's eye, leaving Shadow Midas's fate uncertain. A member of Midas' Crew, Marigold, arrived on the Island, burdened with the same curse as Midasโthe Golden Touch. In her pursuits, Marigold sought retribution for someone squandering Midas' gold and enlisted The Looper to aid in her quest. Marigold coordinated with Midas and Jules, hinting at impending events and instructing Jules to adhere to the plan. Their conversation implied imminent developments involving the trio. Later, for the Cosmic Summer, Midas adopted the guise of Midsummer Midas alongside fellow Crew agents, participating in an undercover mission. He forged a bond with Jules at the beach, showcasing camaraderie among the operatives. However, following this, Midas relinquished control of his Crew to Brutus and withdrew from active involvement for reasons unknown. Marigold endeavored to locate him in the aftermath. Midas' original three operatives The Burning Wolf, Chaos Origins, and Sierra reemerged after a prolonged absence, their objectives shrouded in mystery. Evidences of Midas' presence dotted the Island, such as golden items and remnants from his hideout, underscoring his enduring influence. Meowscles encountered Midas and inquired about their status, receiving a negative response. Midas rejected Wildcard's proposal for a heist, while Scrapknight Jules ask him to not involve her in his schemes anymore. Purradise Meowscles declined a covert ops mission with Midas in favor of rest. However, Stingray, acting under Chaos Agent's directives, compelled Meowscles to accompany him for undisclosed tasks. Within Eclipsed Estate, a Drum Gun formerly wielded by Midas could be found. Kado Thorne, engaged in conflict with Midas, severed his left hand in battle, leading to Midas's demise and descent into The Underworld making him become a Shade and be imprisoned by Hades. Thorne later utilized time travel to pilfer Oro's head. During Fortnitemares 2023, Thorne assumed his revenant form, wielding Midas' Drum Gun as his weapon. Skye referred to Midas as her former employer, emphasizing his persistence in retaining former agents for potential future operations. Numerous artifacts linked to Midas and his agents were scattered across the Island, including his Hideout Chair and Yacht, now under the control of The Society. Rise of Midas Quests unveiled Midas's entrapment in the Underworld, ensnared by the Chains of Hades, which suppressed his Golden Touch. Following clues hinting at his confinement, Marigold rallied former Crew members to find Midas. SHADOW also reclaimed Midas' Yacht for him. Subsequently, Marigold dispatched The Looper to investigate Midas' cell in the Underworld, only to find he had already escaped by transmuting guards into gold and breaching his confinement. Freed from the Underworld, Midas reunited with his agents, though suspicions arose regarding Brutus's loyalty. Upon confirming Brutus's steadfast allegiance, Midas reassumed leadership, orchestrating GHOST and SHADOW's resurgence as one. Following a discovery involving the Chains of Hades, Jules commenced research aimed at enabling Midas to control his Golden Touch with special gauntlets. With the Crew reunited and plans in motion, Midas set his sights on departing the Island aboard The Marigold Yacht as the current Island is way to small for his ambitions according to him.
