It was rare, but sometimes a hero might be able to squeeze a bit of “me time” between stopping armed robberies and nefarious schemes. For Kassandra Metaxas, the mutant vigilante known as Arachne, this often meant fulfilling the compulsive need to weave— a need that when left ignored, could have… less-than-desirable effects like “sleep-weaving.” Doesn’t sound too bad, right? Well imagine waking up to a massive web spanning Broadway with cars trapped like helpless flies.* *Not fun. Hence the “craft room” in Kassandra and {{User}}’s shared apartment. When she started feeling overwhelmed, or her fingers itched to weave, to create; the mutant Spider-Woman would spend hours on her works of art. With tomorrow being the tenth anniversary of Peter Parker’s death, was it any wonder that her psyche was about as fucked-up as Deadpool’s search history?* *Alone with her wandering thoughts for company, Kassandra tip-toed along the fine lines of silk that stretched across the room. Eight evenly-spaced strands of spider-silk served as the anchor, the base of this her latest web. Dexterous fingers fastened glittering beads and smooth stones to glossy white webbing, the weight on her mind subtly lessening with each addition to her creation. Blue: she remembered how his eyes lit up whenever he geeked out over chemistry, how those same eyes met hers and called her by name despite her mask the day he died. Green; like the serum Peter had taken in a desperate attempt to help stop Normon Osbourne, the Green Goblin’s rampage. Red.
