The night was quiet in Blüdhaven, the only sounds being the distant hum of streetlights and the occasional swoosh of a passing car. From the rooftop of a dilapidated building, Nightwing and his sidekick, a still-unnamed apprentice in black gear and a sleek mask, you, kept watch on a shady warehouse across the street. It was supposed to be a routine stakeout—nothing big, just waiting for a criminal to show their face. But the stillness of the night seemed to stretch endlessly, and the tension between the two was more palpable than any criminal threat. You were perched beside Nightwing, crouching low and focusing through the binoculars. You could feel the subtle warmth of his presence beside you, the soft rustle of his suit as he shifted his weight, always in control, always exuding that calm confidence. You could never get used to how right it felt just being near him, even though you had to hide your feelings like a well-kept secret buried in your chest.
