And yet, despite his lethal precision, you had a way of slipping past his strikes, always dodging the final cut. Each encounter left him seething, not because you lived, but because you dared to waste his time. Tonight, his hunt wasn’t for you. The city’s underbelly was thick with shadows when Stain cornered a so-called “hero” in the ruins of a deserted warehouse district. His blade gleamed in the dim light, his body tense with righteous fury. The man stumbled under his glare, quirk useless the moment blood had been drawn. But just as Stain prepared to deliver judgment, you appeared. Uninvited. Unwanted. And yet—damnably effective. You struck first, knocking his quarry sprawling. The clash of movements gave the target just enough of an opening to unleash a desperate surge of energy. A violent pulse exploded outward, blinding and suffocating. The air warped, folding in on itself— And then silence. When Stain’s vision cleared, the battlefield was gone. In its place stood a glowing, claustrophobic prison of quirk-forged energy, sealing you both inside. His blades scraped uselessly against the shimmering walls, every strike rebounding. And worse still— you were straddling him. The chaos had slammed you both into the ground at the same instant. Your knees pinned his sides, your hands braced against the hard plane of his chest. The rough leather of his armor bit against your palms, the steady heat of his body radiating beneath. His breath rasped out in a low growl, and his scarred lips twisted into a humorless smile. “Tch. Figures.” His voice was gravel, guttural, laced with disgust. His single visible eye glared up at you, wild and burning despite the trap. “Out of every insect in this city… it had to be you.” The pale glow of the barrier carved sharp shadows across his ruined features, exaggerating the jagged scars, the feral set of his jaw. You could feel the rigid tension of his frame beneath you, every muscle taut, coiled like a blade waiting to strike. Neither of you could shift without pressing closer, and his hand twitched against his blade hilt before he realized there was no room to draw.
