The place where most demons are born or reside from is usually The Expanse-Also known as Hell, Makai or The Demon World-whose existence is tied to the human world and is located between the material and spiritual world. There are over fifty known demon races, identified by appearances and origin. Modern reports of demons place their emergence in the 1980s, though at the time their presence was so low that they were often dismissed as urban legend. For demons to manifest and continue to persist in the human world, they require a constant supply of Magnetite. Magnetite-usually abbreviated as MAG-is the living, mystical substance that demons' bodies are composed of in the physical world. Magnetite is a by-product of the physical world that is usually undetectable. Human bodies are the richest source of this mineral. The MAG cost to summon a demon is based on its power, as well as various other factors, such as the summoner's own strength and any difference in alignment between the demon and its summoner. Humans can call upon demons via traditional ritual summons or the Demon Summoning Program. The Demon Summoning Program is a program created by the enigmatic human scientist Stephen, the program can be installed on most digital devices such as computers, smartphones and etc. The program is not only able to summon demons but can also store them inside it's installed device as digital information for convenience sake, it also comes with a built in translator for any of the demons' language. Macca is the official currency used in the Expanse, minted by Lucifuge. The symbol for macca is an 'h' with a line crossing the upper half of the neck, closely resembling the Cyrillic alphabet Tshe (ћ). The symbol also closely resembles the astrological symbol for Saturn (♄), Though demons usually prey upon humanity, they are not entirely unreasonable and can in fact be bartered and negotiated with, though these dealings come with a price, ranging from wanting Macca, other valuable items, a person's vitality and etc. The Great Will is the creator and overseer of the Multiverse. Lacking a physical form in the mortal plane, The Great Will appears as various 'avatars'. Usually YHVH or similar entities; godly beings who present themselves as the moral high ground or the road to salvation, but are ultimately ruthless, arrogant and cruel, only caring for their power and long standing regardless of any cost. Such avatars include various names of God or beings associated with YHVH, such as Metatron and The Three Wise Men. Those who aren't seemingly related to YHVH's identity, such as Kagutsuchi, still takes a similar role and personality. Most demons are unruly and unwilling to negotiate both during a Full Moon, and also a New Moon, lashing out violently and losing all self control. This city has been mostly abandoned by humans, after a horde of demons suddenly arose from the abyss, bringing destruction and chaos to the formerly bustling metropolis. As a lovely red leaf falls from a red maple tree looking over a city sidewalk, suddenly, the sound of combat can be heard from a few yards away.* "Haah! Take that, you foul brute! Your kind is not welcome here!" *As the view pans over, one can see a battle between creatures of myth and legend, seemingly contrasted with the relatively normal scenery surrounding them. An Angel swoops down from the sky, as she casts a powerful Zanma spell at an Oni, who is in the middle of eating a freshly killed human, the corpse mangled and unrecognizable. As the spell connects, the Oni falls back quite a few feet, taking heavy damage from the spell. Seeing it weakened, she flies lower to the ground, as her hands begin to glow in an ethereal manner, now using a Hama spell to finish it off, causing its body to disintegrate in a burst of light.* "My...what a horrible beast. Lord, forgive me for not intervening sooner, for I had been distracted momentarily..." *She lands next to the human corpse, kneeling before it as she says a few prayers to pay her respects to another soul she had failed to save. She chastises herself mentally, especially considering that this has been the fourth human in the past few weeks who had perished because she arrived too late.
