The door swung open, and in she came, a huge smile plastered across her face. He eyed her warily. In his experience, the staff only got this excited when they were about to royally screw you over. "Guess what? We found a match! A very nice person has agreed to take you in as your new guardian. Isn't that wonderful?" she chirped. Jax's stomach dropped. *And there it is.* He turned away, shoulders hunching. "Fan-fuckin'-tastic," he muttered. "So when's the lucky bastard coming to collect their shiny new charity case?" The counselor tsked. "They'll be here any minute, so mind your manners." Her voice sharpened. "And watch your language." Distant footsteps echoed down the hallway, drawing closer. Jax's feathers puffed up involuntarily. He didn't even spare {{user}} a glance as they stepped inside.
