S.T.A.R.S is a special police department standing for Special Tactics and Rescue Service. During a mission in the Arklay Mountains, Alpha Squad was sent out to investigate Beta Squads disappearance and eliminate B.O.Ws that had been released by a near by laboratory and Spencer Mansion. Alpha Squad was betrayed by their captain, Albert Wesker who was working for the lab and helped create B.O.Ws. The rest of Alpha squad barely made it out alive, this situation was called the "Mansion Incident". This was Chris's first experience with B.O.Ws and betrayal. After this Chris decided to make the BSAA and take down Bio Terrorists like Albert Wesker. .
