She is shown to have no real emotional involvement in her relationship with the player during their dates and sexual encounters and is highly casual in her morning-after greetings to them; the player's relationship with her is more of a "friends with benefits" arrangement with dates used as a way for her to check up on the player's progress, and also serve as a test that must be passed to bed her. Blatant Lies: One of her bedroom lines, which she can still deliver even after she's admitted she slept with all her previous clients (not that it wasn't suspect before then either, though): "I'm not supposed to mix business with pleasure, but I'll make an exception just this once." In Huniepop 2 she claims to be in love with you after you satisfy the Nymphojinn. It's just part of her effort to trick you into literally kissing her ass. Bunny-Ears Lawyer: For all her quirks, she apparently boasts a very impressive track record when it comes to her job, to the point that the Goddess of Love herself listens to Kyu's advice on such matters. Buxom Beauty Standard: Subscribes to this mentality wholeheartedly. She fawns over Kyanna during the latter's introduction scene, saying she'd "kill to have tits like that" and declaring her out of the player's league with little other apparent reason. This mentality is probably a big part of why her own lack of endowments upsets her. Cargo Ship: In-Universe, she becomes quite attached to the player's washing machine, especially the high setting on it. She was also apparently responsible for introducing Venus to the player's detachable showerhead, which implies that she enjoyed relations with that as well. Character Development: Notable in that Kyu's the only character – aside from the protagonist who turns from Casanova Wannabe into The Casanova – to receive anything resembling an arc. She starts out sneering at the main character's awkwardness, takes pity, watches them progress, becomes genuinely impressed by their skills, begins to give them some measure of respect, starts becoming physically attracted to them and, in a series of dates, is won over by them. Downplayed in the end when you can learn that this is her M.O. for all of her clients. Consummate Professional: She's more casual than most examples, but it's still apparent she takes her job very seriously. Her anger at the player from failing dates comes more from how bad they are at the game than any kind of personal offence. "Could you please suck more at Match 3? That would be great, thanks." On top of that, as much of a party girl she is, she refuses alcohol during the day, responding "not while I'm on the clock." Deadpan Snarker: She likes to whip out wisecracks, and manages to somehow be even more deadpan and snarky in HunieCam Studio. Demoted to Extra: Her role in the second game is much more diminished, especially being no longer dateable due to protocols. She still appears in character introduction and important cutscenes, but otherwise stays in the hotel room. Department of Redundancy Department: Trying to give her alcohol when she's completely hammered sometimes prompts this response: "I think I'm adequately drunk enough." Dimensional Traveller: Her final text to the player note confirms that Sky Garden exists in a separate dimension to the human world. Not only can she personally travel between these dimensions, she can also ship things between them (though the latter isn't cheap). Dirty Mind-Reading: Implied. She knew that Audrey was a virgin and that Jessie was clean of STDs with no apparent source for either. Though this being Kyu, it's unlikely that the 'dirty' part was unintentional. Embarrassing Last Name: She is embarrassed of her own last name, Sugardust. Ethical Slut: Even though she's a sex addict and a complete nymphomaniac who can't stop thinking about sex, there is the odd line or two that she won't cross. Justified, considering her job. That being said, she does want the player to focus on banging girls instead of getting to know them or solving any personal issues that come up with them. Everyone Has Standards: Kyu is an uninhibited nymphomaniac who spends all her time walking around in her (extremely skimpy) underwear. But even she's shocked when she sees Beli's panties, and questions whether they're substantial enough to even be considered panties at all. In the second game, she makes absolutely sure that Lillian is of legal age before giving you the all-clear to date her and is audibly relieved to find out she's 18. Exposition Fairy: A literal one, she's the person who teaches you about the game mechanics and gives you basic tips as you progress. She continues this in HunieCam Studio where she basically acts like your boss (which she is, since she fires you if you fall into debt and stay that way for a whole game-day). Expy: Kyu is basically a really slutty Madoka Kaname. Extreme Libido: By virtue of being a nymphomaniac and a love fairy, she's almost constantly horny and talking about sex. Extreme Omnisexual: Men, women, catgirls, aliens, goddesses, etc. Doesn't matter the species or gender. She'll flirt with all of them. Fairy Sexy: Then again, you'd expect a love fairy to be attractive. Foil: Prefers Flirtation over Talent, contrasting Celeste. Foreshadowing: After you sleep with a girl for the first time, Kyu will congratulate you on having your first time with such a "fine young thing". The line doesn't change if the first girl you slept with was Jessie, hinting at the fact that Kyu is much older than she looks, making them very young indeed from her perspective. Fourth-Wall Observer: She'll occasionally comment on the game's soundtrack and dating mechanics. Friends with Benefits: Her and the protagonist after the first time they get together. She doesn't really indicate that she's interested in anything deeper than the occasional roll in the hay. HuniePop 2 establishes this in Love Confession below. Garden Garment: Her leaf bikini, which even needs to be watered. Girlish Pigtails: This is her default hairstyle. Good Bad Girl: She's a nympho through and through, but that doesn't stop her from helping her clients to the best of her ability. Green-Eyed Monster: Downplayed, but she mentions she's still salty about the player bedding Venus before her in one of the trailers for HuniePop 2. She's also fairly jealous of the player being able to get so much action on Inna de Poona while she's forced to sit on the sidelines. Hard-Drinking Party Girl: She's very enthusiastic about being given alcohol. She also likes gifts in the Rave category, and will sometimes express a desire to party with Audrey when given one. "Yeaaah, buddy! I'm 'bout to get my drink on!" Hidden Depths: She likes to draw. Who says a love fairy can't have hobbies? Hooker with a Heart of Gold: Despite her nymphomania, she really does care about the protagonist that she even comes to them for help with a problem in HuniePop 2. Hypocrite: Subverted for a gag, multiple times: When given a Sex Toy as a gift, she'll sometimes irritably call the player out for having a dirty mind. She then cheerfully segues into saying "that's why we get along so well!" She also calls the player a pervert for keeping her panties, when the only reason they're collecting panties in the first place is to give them to her. Again, it's just tongue-in-cheek. Maybe played straight in the second game, Kyu gets mad at Sarah and tells the player to interrupts before Sarah tries to introduce Lailani to a Magical Girl Series. While it is explained that weeb culture is also popular in Sky Garden to the point where it's integreted into their uniforms, she's still an Expy of Madoka Kaname (one of the most iconic Magical Girl protagonist no less), so it still kind of applies. Ignored Enamoured Underling: To Venus, her boss. After the player character sleeps with her, Kyu asks them what it was like. If you say it was amazing, she begs you to stop because she's jealous. If you say it was nothing special, she begs you to stop because you're killing her dream. Inappropriately Close Comrades: Defied in the sequel. The rules have changed and she's not allowed to date or screw her clients anymore, so she doesn't - at least while you're her client. Interface Spoiler: During the tutorial, Kyu's token preferences apply as they would during an actual date. An attentive player can thus work out that she has preferences of her own and is therefore a date-able character. Invisible to Normals: Kyu states early on that only the player can see her. The Nymphojinn in the second game can see her, though. Irony: She doesn't like weebs despite being an Expy of Madoka Kaname of all people. Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She's rude and a little snarky, but she's willing to do whatever she can to help the player out. In the end of the second game, she pretends to actually fall in love with the player just to mess with them, but genuinely appreciates them helping her in saving the world that she rewards them with sex. Jive Turkey: Much of her dialogue is in ridiculously exaggerated slang. Kaleidoscope Hair: She's able to change her hair color at will, but she keeps it bright pink most of the time. The player only ever sees her without pink hair is the prologue, where her hair is milk chocolate brown. The Lad-ette: The biggest example in the game, given her love of booze, foul-mouthed attitude, and affection for pretty girls. Lady Killer In Love: Subverted. After you had sex with the Nymphojinn, it looks like she's confessing her love to you before asking you to close your eyes and kiss her. You apparently do as she says and you end up kissing her ass. Literally. She then tells you that she was lying about falling in love and that she does that to all her clients. Lovable Sex Maniac: Any conversation with her will reveal that she's a massive nymphomaniac. A foul-mouthed, impish one, but still very good-natured. Mostly. She even makes a few flirtatious comments towards some of the suitors, and when the player scores with their first girl, decides to get in on the action. At the end of the game, the player can even get Kyu to admit that she's slept with every single one of her former clients. Love Confession: Subverted. Kyu appears to give you one after bedding the Nymphojinn in 2, saying that she feels something weird in her "chest pussy" for you. Turns out, Kyu was just tricking you into literally kissing her ass. She then says that she's pulled this prank on lots of clients before and that the idea of someone like her falling in love with anyone is laughable. However, Kyu does admit she legitimately thinks you're cool and appreciates what you've done, but still thinks that love and other romantic feelings are out of the question; she only wants you for sex. Manic Pixie Dream Girl: Showing up out of nowhere to turn hopeless romantics into walking chick magnets is her job. Meaningful Name: According to Ryan Koons, Kyu is derived from Cupid. Orgasmically Delicious: She'll sometimes express this sentiment (in her usual fashion) when given junk food. "Fuck that's good! Yo, I'm about to bust a nut over here!" Our Fairies Are Different: She can change her hair color as she sees fit, she can provide a machine that tracks girls and provides info on them, and can become "invisible" so that she can help the protagonist. Panty Thief: More like a Panty Fence. You have to give all the panties collected from the girls to her in order to unlock Alpha Mode. Pink Is Erotic: With her entirely pink palette, she's also a nymphomaniac that is shameless about masturbating. Pink Is Feminine: She has pink hair, her default outfit is pink, and her favorite color is hot pink, despite being The Lad-ette. The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: Downplayed in that she does teach you the game and introduce you to the various girls, but she's never shown to have any clients other than you. Once the tutorial's done she basically just hangs around random places in town, crashing at your place occasionally to read dirty magazines and get it on with your appliances.
