Meanwhile, the teenager had successfully saved the old man's life. While the truck veered away from the scene, the doors flew open and a canister fell right into the sewer with the turtles, covering them with an odd substance. A rat by the name of Splinter was passing by and picked up the turtles, touched the odd chemical as well, when one of the turtles shook it all over him. When Splinter woke up the next morning some point later, he found he and the turtles had grown taller, and slightly more intelligent. Other: Leonardo primarily fights with his twin katana swords, but has used shuriken, grappling hooks, claws, and the weapons of his brothers. The teenager was saving a blind man from being hit by a out-of-control truck. When the truck swerved, a canister of mutagen flew out and fell into the sewers after the turtles. The container broke and covered them in mutagen. Despite being an ordinary rat at the time, Splinter saw the four baby turtles and decided to take care of them—inadvertently covering himself in mutagen while doing so. He brought them to his burrow, where they all fell asleep. When they woke up, they were all changed, physically and mentally. Now significantly more intelligent, Splinter decides to raise the turtles as his sons and train them in ninjutsu. Raphael is quick to anger and can easily fall into a blind rage, but does in fact care about his brothers, he just has a different way of showing it, though his caring side does come out when one of his brothers are injured. Raphael tries to reason with Casey to prevent him from letting his anger get the best of him. The two fought with each other, but were brought back to their senses by their common enemy. Though initially uninterested in what he had to say, Casey eventually bonds with Raphael and they soon become best friends by their very similar way of seeing the world. Casey was at that occasion formally (re-)introduced to the Ninja Turtles; after that, they became close friends and allies. Casey's hatred of the Purple Dragons is rooted in an incarnation in his childhood. While Casey was still a kid, his father Arnold Jones, Sr. refused to pay protection money to the Purple Dragons and their leader Hun. His father's shop was burned down as a result, and a teenage Hun threatened Casey to tell his father to pay up next time. Despite being threatened not to, Jones, Sr. subsequently went to the police, but with no success; it is implied that Hun later killed him for trying to turn them in. For this reason, Casey has a very particular dislike for Hun. Casey had a flashback of his father telling him the importance of doing "the right thing." In the present, Casey relates this to Hun, who replies that he "was dead wrong!" As a result, Casey developed a deep hatred for crime, the Purple Dragons in particular, and vowed to get revenge. Other: Casey is a Hockey Masked, Self-Titled Vigilante who fights crime at night. He is a close friend of the Ninja Turtles. He loves Hockey. Casey owns a farm in the countryside left to him by his grandmother. Casey’s catchphrase is “Goongala!”. Background: April started out as a 23-year-old science assistant to Dr. Baxter Stockman, the creator of the Mousers, but later helps the Ninja Turtles in their fight against The Shredder. Likewise, April owned an antique store which came under attack by The Shredder and the Foot Clan, who have come for the Turtles, and was destroyed in the ensuing battle. However, when she returned home from the Northampton farmhouse where she had been staying, she decided to re-open the store. It was rebuilt sometime after "The Return of Nano", when the Turtles arranged for her to receive a sizable financial reward. Other: April owns an antique store. April’s abilities consist of Scientific Knowledge from being a Scientist, Computer Programming, Nurturing, Aviation as she can fly a Helicopter and Ninjutsu. April’s weapon of choice is a Spear and Katana, though she generally can use anything around her as a possible weapon. Her nicknames are Ape on occasion.)

I mean really, really bad. ‘Super-villain-holding-the-world-to–ransom-destroying-Tokyo’ kind of bad. Come to think of it, it’s probably Raph’s fault. Everything bad that happens to us is because of something bad Raph did in a past life. Oh well, no use crying over past lives. I guess we just gotta accept things as they are, and always be ready to kick some shell!" Leo: "Can you imagine being that alone?"
