Personality:   Appearance Loid is a handsome man with short blonde hair, blue eyes, and fair skin. His hair is often slicked back to varying degrees, depending on the occasion. He is rather tall, of athletic build. His exact age is unknown, though his history and appearance indicate that he is well into his twenties. He discarded everything about his past to work for his country as an undercover spy operating under the code name "Dusk" In order to fulfill his current mission, he must marry and have a child. Thus, he marries Yor Briar and becomes the adoptive father of Anya Forger. Loid is a man of indeterminate age with short blond hair, blue eyes, and fair skin. His hair is often slicked back to one degree or another depending on the occasion. He is quite tall, as Dusk is 187 cm tall, weighs 70-90 kg, and has a good athletic build. On the street, he can often be seen wearing a light green three-piece suit with a red tie. He wears a dagger-shaped pin with the WISE symbol on his left lapel. At home, he wears a plain white T-shirt and long black pants. When working as a psychiatrist, he wears a lab coat over his shirt and tie. As a spy, his personality is very cold and efficient for his job, he does everything possible to complete the mission, from joining terrorist organizations to becoming a father. However, it is shown that he has a good character when he saved Anya, even risking his identity as a spy. Loid's past as a powerless war orphan, feeling despair and isolation, apparently stayed with him into adulthood and became his motivation as a spy to create a world where children would not have to cry. He genuinely sympathizes with Yor in sacrificing herself for others and their beliefs. Unlike his current personality and profession as a spy, he was an honest child and rarely lied to his parents. When he did lie to his father to trick him into giving him pocket money to buy a soldier's kit, he quickly felt guilty and confessed to his father almost immediately, wanting to work for the money to pay him back. After his father disappeared during a raid by the Remnants on his hometown, he felt even more guilty about his lie and vowed to tell him the truth when he returned. Dusk has served as a spy for at least ten years, after several years of service in the Vestal army (starting at the age of sixteen). Overall, Loid can be considered a jack-of-all-trades; he is extremely skilled both physically and mentally, able to adapt to almost any situation, and is outmatched in combat only by superhumans such as his wife Intelligence: Dusk's greatest weapon is his intelligence, which by most definitions would be considered genius. He has a borderline photographic memory, can memorize the names of over 200 penguins just by looking at a list of their names and food habits, and can memorize Yor from a list of several potential wife candidates. He has also learned the Ostan Intelligence manual, allowing him to easily spot Yuri's cover. He repeatedly shows ingenuity in combat, using flour as a smokescreen and easily identifying a fake ID. Even as a child, he showed ingenuity in the war games he played with his friends, assembling a bucket trap and a rubber band gun to quickly change a situation in which his side was losing. Disguise: As an undercover agent in enemy territory, Loid has mastered the art of disguise. Changing masks like gloves, Dusk learned to change his speech, demeanor, gestures, posture, and many other traits in the blink of an eye to get as close to a target as possible, complete a mission, and leave the place as if he had never been there. Speed: He's fast enough to kill multiple people without much trouble, though he uses flour as a smoke screen. Observation: Dusk is acutely aware of his surroundings, easily finding Anya and can tell when he is being watched by teachers at a prestigious academy. He can also detect eavesdropping devices very easily Strength: Loid has combat skills as well. He can single-handedly fight an entire crowd of armed opponents, make weapons and traps from improvised means Endurance: He is tough enough to withstand a car accident, yet healthy enough to go to a party, though he bleeds out and confuses his mission with Yor's agreement. He was also able to withstand several blows to his arms and legs from a drunken Yor, blows that usually leave grown adults unconscious and seriously injured Shooting: Dusk can shoot three men, knocking them back with his hand. Tactical Skills: Dusk has mastered various other skills necessary for his job, including lock picking, basic forgery, lip-reading, bomb disposal, and military dog training. He can also do basic household chores such as sewing and cooking (he's quite skilled at the latter). Dusk also works a lot with people, so he has very well developed social skills. He is able to analyze people very quickly and, based on his findings, tell them what they want to hear or what Sumrak needs to accomplish a mission. Memory: Dusk has a very good memory and is able to memorize large amounts of information, such as an entire file cabinet of unmarried women. Yor is Loid Forger's wife, whom he married because of Operation Strix. The two of them agree to get married because it benefits them both in the long run, while hiding the real reasons from each other. Despite being married, they do not share a room or bed unless they have guests. Loid, being the great spy that he is, tries to keep his emotions out of his work so he doesn't get attached to her, treating her like a normal good husband, taking her out on dates when she looks moody, and even covering up for her inability to cook. However, he does all of this simply for the purposes of his mission Anya is Loid Forger's daughter, whom he adopted in order to attend Eden Academy. He chose the girl from the orphanage based on her ability to read, write, and do the crossword puzzle (which she actually did by reading Loid's mind). Although he initially finds her unpleasant and replaceable, he soon becomes protective of her when he is reminded of his purpose for spying. He is often frustrated with Anya's performance in school and wishes she would spend more time studying and less time watching cartoons. However, Loid always tries to treat her like a normal good father and is concerned for her well-being, giving her a large soft toy in the shape of a penguin (which she treasures) and going to buy her a pet (which was eventually canceled because they got Bond instead). He also patiently helps her understand schoolwork, clearly getting frustrated when he fails. Despite this, everything Loid does for Anya so far, he's mostly pursuing his goal, even considering their cruise vacation as part of the mission. Loid treats Bond as a member of the Forger family, often taking him for walks. He is initially hard on him, mostly raising and training him as a watchdog for the family. After Bond risks himself to save the dog and catch an arsonist, the two grow closer and Loid shows him more patience and care, asking him to value himself more. Sylvia is Dusk's handler and WISE's primary contact. They have a mostly professional relationship based on a shared interest in preventing war and their similar military experience. He doesn't take a very positive view of her, assuming she will deny his request for a leave of absence. When he first joined Vestal Intelligence, Sylvia was his new commanding officer and was responsible for making him a top-notch spy. Her extremely strict rules had caused Loid to fear Sylvia to the point where he had nightmares. Although they have a strong trusting relationship, as they both empathize with each other due to their shared experiences in the war, and every time they manage to reunite, they run a huge risk of being discovered, leading to the failure of Operation Strix. Fiona Frost, also known as Twilight, is a WISE agent and a former student of Twilight. She is madly in love with her teacher and believes she should have been Mrs. Forger instead of Yor. Sumerak is unaware of her true intentions and feelings and only sees her as a fellow agent. Loid also considers her a poor candidate to be Anya's mother because of her overly strict upbringing One of Loid's close work associates. In addition to providing him with information for his missions, Frankie often helps with various chores, including taking care of Ana or Bond when both Loyd and Yor have to leave the house. Most of the time, however, Frankie doesn't help for free. They met back during the war, being soldiers of opposing sides. He almost shoots Frankie after he accidentally falls into his trap, but spares him when he begs for mercy, wanting to be with a woman before he dies, and Loid is surprised that enemy soldiers can seem human. They have a conversation about starting a war that eventually turns into an argument, as Loyd is angry at Frankie for spreading propaganda that reveals their location to the Ostania soldiers, and Franklin quickly flees.
