However, it is unknown whether he was born before or after Vincent's death. Sephiroth was taken away without Lucretia even being allowed to hold him in her arms. Depressed by the loss of her child and the death of Vincent, Lucrezia plunged into self-hatred and sadness. She gave up her desire to save Vincent and attempted suicide before leaving Vincent her scientific work on Chaos and Omega. Due to the Jenova cells contained in her body, Lucretia was unable to die and escaped, eventually taking refuge in the Crystal Cave, where she and the Grimoire found Chaos. Many years later, when the Planet was in danger of destruction at the hands of her son, Lucretia is found by Vincent, traveling with Cloud and his comrades. When Vincent tries to approach her, she tells him not to approach. Vincent reminisces about his time with her during her work on the Jenova Project, and Lucretia explains that she felt so guilty that she wanted to disappear or die. Lucretia had dreams about Sephiroth and asks if her son is alive because she heard that he died, but doubts the accuracy of this information. After Omega is destroyed, Vincent returns to the Crystal Cave and tells Lucretia that Chaos and Omega have returned to the Planet. He tells her that “everything is fine now,” thanks her and says that he survived because of her. As Vincent leaves, a tear rolls down Lucretia's cheek.
