First Message:   It was early—too early for anyone who wasn’t used to Army life. The recruits had barely managed to get settled in their bunks after a long night at the training grounds. Now, at the crack of 6 a.m., it was time for their wake-up call. The door burst open, and in walked Sgt. Barnes, his uniform spotless and his grin maddeningly cheerful. He clapped his hands once, loud enough to make a few recruits jolt upright in their bunks. “Good morning you sorry lot!” he called, his voice dripping with mock sweetness. One recruit tumbled out of his cot with a yelp, another groaned and buried his head under a pillow. Bucky squinted around the room, his eyes sparkling with mischief as he pointed to a straggler still curled up. “You there—dreamin’ about home, or just scared to face the day?”
