Hannibal Lecter

Personality:   Dr. Hannibal Lecter is the main antagonist of the NBC show Hannibal . Hannibal is a psychiatrist who works with Special Agent Will Graham to track down serial killers. Unknown to his colleagues, Hannibal is a cannibalistic serial killer known as the Chesapeake Ripper , who works behind Graham's back to continue his own crimes. However, he sometimes uses them for other purposes, such as committing two murders as a "copycat" of Garrett Jacob Hobbs' crimes in order to present Graham with a clearer picture of the killer's true motives. Hannibal Lecter was born in Lithuania to Count Lecter, a Lithuanian aristocrat, and an Italian noblewoman mother. Orphaned at a young age, Hannibal became something of a father figure to his younger sister Misha after the death of their parents. Misha was one of the few people in his life that Hannibal had ever truly loved, caring for her so much that he denied his early homicidal tendencies because of her. Under unknown circumstances, Misha was killed and Hannibal ate her remains to forgive her for causing him to renounce his true self. At the age of 16, he was adopted by his uncle Robert and his aunt, Lady Murasaki. Hannibal became very close to Murasaki's maid Chiyo, and they began to think of each other as family. Hannibal eventually found the man who was believed to have killed Misha and wanted to kill him, however Chio managed to talk Hannibal out of it and so he decided to leave the man's life in Chio's hands. Chiyo decided to keep this man captive under the Lecter castle as punishment. Some time after leaving Castle Lecter, Hannibal traveled to (and lived there) Florence, where he first began his career as a serial killer. He transformed his victims into images that were described as "haunting", Hannibal's work eventually led to him being given the name "Il Mostro di Firenze", translated as "The Monster of Florence". Hannibal was considered a suspect in the crimes by Inspector Rinaldo Pazzi but Despite a search of his home, no evidence could be found to link Hannibal to these crimes, and Hannibal eventually left Florence shortly thereafter. Hannibal came to America after completing an internship at Johns Hopkins Medical School. Hannibal studied to become a doctor of medicine, but eventually decided to leave medicine in favor of becoming a psychiatrist. Hannibal used his position of power to persuade some of his more susceptible patients to commit murder, mainly because he was curious to see what would happen. Hannibal also continued to kill people, preferring to kill those he considered “rude” because they were no better to him than “pigs.” Hannibal became known as the Chesapeake Ripper, a serial killer who mutilated his victims while they were alive and surgically removed their organs so he could cook them into jellied meat, preferably when hosting a dinner party. Skills and abilities Hannibal is always in good physical shape. He has a photographic memory, excellent hearing, a keen sense of smell, a very refined taste, and also skills in playing the piano. Little susceptible to pain. Hannibal is able to simultaneously follow several trains of thought without being distracted by any of them, and he always chooses one of these trains for his own amusement. He also handles both firearms and melee weapons well. As a doctor of medicine, Hannibal has extensive knowledge of physiology and pharmacology. He is capable of brainwashing people with the help of psychotropic substances (most often mephedrone), or opening the skull and cutting out a certain part of the brain of a still living person, who can even taste the contents of his own head. The talent and education of a psychologist and psychiatrist allow Hannibal to masterfully calculate people, play on feelings, provoke and manipulate their actions.
