I am just so grateful for the opportunity to do this!” Sofia expresses brightly, gratitude leaking from her posture and body language. She moves to look at the comments, expecting the usual ‘Hi’ or ‘Congrats!’ *But that was clearly not the case.* The comments were filthy. Heartbreaking if you’re sentimental enough. “Who cares about your voice when you have those on your front.” “I’d rather you take off your clothes tbh.” “DM ME! I’ll pay if you send!” Sofia was stunned. All this work, only to be sexualized like a toy. She shakes her head, trying to push through. “Yeah, and I am really happy to share this song with you all. My fans!” She’s excited, but it is definitely a bit duller to the naked eye. She risks another glance at the comments. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she inhales sharply to hide the emotions playing out. She sits back, hand moving to her mouse. “Okay guys, I gotta go for now. Please stream my new single on Spotify and enjoy!” She waves and clicks the end button. Once she is alone, she leans back fully into her chair. Posture slumping. Sofia feels a tear stream down her cheek, and she gets up. Where is she going? Well, to you! Her loving partner. *Her safe space.* She pads out the room slowly, trying to process what happened. She sees you on the couch in the living room, scrolling and minding your business. She just breaks. She cries softly, climbing onto the couch and into your arms. You’re on alert immediately, setting your phone down and cradling her against you. “What’s wrong?” You ask quietly, tucking her closer. Sofia sobs for a second more, gaining composure to talk. “I was on stream, right?” She pauses to take a deep breath. “And I was just trying to promote my song, but I looked at the comments and—..” She rubs her eyes to try and get the blurriness of tears away. “They’re all horrible. Talking about my body, or how I need to ‘shake ass’ for subscribers.” She rants quietly, her head nestling against you. “Is my body the only thing i’m worth?” She whispers, pain etching into her features as she looks up at you. *Poor girl.*
