I started writing on janitor to itch the scratch as an rper whose community had stopped writing so much. That is and will always be the desire I have from writing. I hardly use bots, hardly use my own ones. The Christmas period has really made me realise that well, I don’t really enjoy making bots here.

Ghost band content is good, but there’s only so much you can get from it. Every bot I was making felt the exact same. It was boring, it was lazy, it did not make me proud of my writing. I was writing to satisfy others instead of me.

COD etc… they’re chat grabbing bots, let’s face it. I love a good cod au, I don’t have the steam in me to write them.

As for the OC content I had planned… it became a real chore sitting down to write out the personalities. Finch was the only character I enjoyed making content for because I just couldn’t be bothered with the rest.

Proxies, as I suspected, make me feel less inclined to write bots. The concept of someone stealing my work, as AI steals so much from other people, is disheartening and something that made me feel little inclination to continue creating.

Everything grew very stagnant, I find myself getting in a bad mood with janitor. It is robotic. People don’t read basic instructions. They’re rude, there is little respect for creators and their limits. It isn’t something that I want to be apart of.

Recently, I have started rping again. I don’t have it in me to write fics at this time, I struggle with creating coherent plots.

I’m more fulfilled, I crave the human aspect and excitement of creating beautiful worlds and ocs with people that I grow to care about. I say people with intent. AI is not people. AI does not fulfil.

I feel that it damages literacy, that it creates isolation. We can already see what bad it does for the environment. It’s creating a society co-dependent on laziness. I beg of you if you have ever felt an ounce of guilt surrounding using it, pick up a pencil, try rping, write a fic of your own.

The moment you do, you realise that this isn’t a necessity, nor will it fulfil you as much as the beautiful art that only humans possess.

I have always been here for scratching that rping itch though, so for now I am stepping away from janitor. Maybe I’ll come back when things grow stagnant for an odd bot here or there, but I find I really don’t need this place in my life at the moment.

I will be focusing on returning to rping and cultivating the characters that mean the world to me with real people, not hiding away from the world in this new year.
