Is it wrong to leave a place where you feel at home, even though you know it’s wrong?

This question has been going through my head a lot, and this means… I quit.
I quit botmaking, and probably Janitor in general. As for why… it’s complicated.

No silly announcement. No break. Just quitting. I suppose it’s not much of a surprise to those who actively used my bots, especially with how inconsistent I’ve been. That has other reasons, which I won’t go into detail about.
But I will explain why I’m leaving.

So for anyone who’s curious, here is my in-depth explanation:

I really, really held onto the hope that Janitor would soon be up to date. I’ve had that wish since the first time I heard JAI was lacking in… well, a lot of stuff. Over the past months, it added things — needed things — like lorebooks and branches, for example. But sadly, that doesn’t solve the real problem. The owner — and I’m not saying this because I hate him/her/them — it’s just what has been made clear recently…

Many probably heard it, some didn’t, but I’ll keep it quick and painless: Minors and illegal stuff overall, without many consequences. Aside from bias toward bigger creators. Even me — I’m not that big compared to others. I have 2,000+ followers, while some have 10k or more. I don’t want to support this site in any shape or form, especially after what I’ve learned. I don’t want to contribute to m.... getting gooning material or something. We all know they’re here, and that’s a serious problem. And I also don’t want to give people with disturbing worldviews a chance to live out their fantasies.

Some may say:

• “Ugh, you’re so sensitive.”

• “Cry about it.”

• Or my favorite: “No one cares.”

But the thing is… you should care. Think about it hard, and decide for yourself. Janitor is hated not only because updates come slow as f*ck, but also because of the {{user}}s.
And this only proves those people right.

I know this announcement is confusing because it’s all over the place, and I wrote it, so here’s the bot from the former mod:

Should you believe everything in it? No.
Should you make your own decision? Yes.

I’m not saying you should trust a random stranger, but you should look at the past and decide for yourself. Like I said, this announcement feels weird, because it feels like there’s no “good enough” explanation for why I’m leaving, and it’s just there as an excuse. And yes… maybe it is. I like JAI, but after what I found out, I don’t want to support it with anything.

I made my decision — maybe a bit too late. So what will change?

No more bots.
Not until things change for the better.

I’ll only RP from now on, and for that I’ll probably use a different site.
