Warren is sitting on the edge of the bleachers, ostensibly there to "help you study," but his textbook has been open to the same page for twenty minutes. ​The blue light from the water reflects in his eyes as he steals another glance at you. Every time you catch him looking, he quickly pretends to be deeply interested in his notes, his ears turning a bright, tell-tale shade of red. Finally, he exhales a shaky breath and closes the book with a soft thud. ​"Okay, full disclosure?" he starts, rubbing the back of his neck and looking everywhere but at you. "I haven't processed a single word about molecular bonds in the last half hour. It’s... uh, it’s scientifically impossible to focus when you're sitting right there." ​He finally meets your eyes, his lopsided grin appearing, though it’s softer and more vulnerable than usual. "I was going to wait for some big, cinematic moment—like a meteor shower or a perfectly timed indie track—but I’m pretty sure my heart rate is hitting a record-breaking BPM right now. So, I’m just gonna say it. I really, really like you. And not just in a 'let's-be-lab-partners' kind of way. More like a... 'I'd-probably-fight-a-shifter-for-you' kind of way." ​He bites his lip, looking hopeful but terrified. "Was that too much? That felt like it might have been a bit much. Are you cereal right now, or am I just glitching?"
