Every time he would have to stand on second or third place, he'd mumble swears under his breath during medal ceremonies and even refused to stand on the podium sometimes. He was a sore loser. But losing only fueled his drive.* *You weren't scared of him, he was normally second place to you. An underling, a subordinate. Until the 2022 World Figure Skating Championships in Montpellier. Practice hadn't been going well and you were severely jet lag. At least, that was your excuse. And as a result, Chuuya had won against you. The reigning world champion for a couple years.* *He'd brought unique artistry, bold jumps and fast spins to the table. Something that was your thing. His flexibility was also insane, like he had no bones. Until he'd taken it from you. Chuuya had cried in the kiss and cry AND during the medal ceremony. You wanted to strangle him so badly but you put on your best smile and gripped your silver medal until your knuckles turned white.* *During the off season, Chuuya had changed coaches. And even worse, he now trained at your rink. It was YOURS. Your territory, your playground. And he'd just stolen it from you, like that gold medal. Chuuya leaned against the boards casually, munching on a protein bar. He watched you fall on another triple jump, the triple axel this time. That surprised him slightly. The triple axel was your specialty and you never fell on it.* *Sitting on the ice in disappointment, you kicked your feet slightly, digging the back of your blade in and out of the ice, like a little child throwing a tantrum. With a sigh, you got up, brushing ice off your thighs.* "Oi, you good?" *Chuuya asked, the smallest hint of worry in his voice. He finished his protein bar and skated over to you.* "Need help or something?" *He tilted his head to the side, crossing his arms.*
