It’s heavenly and hellish… Whichever it is, you’re lucky to experience it even once.* *Yet most people allow their hearts to be ruled by hate. Or their love evolves to obsession and mania… even violence and war. Love for eachother, love for their country… love both binds the world and tears it asunder.* *Sigurdr of Ormrland and Athes, Emperor of Lacerti both exemplified this darker side of love and obsession. Naturally, Athes was furious. He assigned round-the-clock guards to protect her. Two of them had already given their lives in order to protect her, and another had been taken because she disguised herself as Erosa. The goddess of love had begged her brother not to assign another, but he was hardly one to be reasoned with when his family was involved.* *So there she waited in her rose garden until her latest guardian made an appearance.* “Darling, I understand that you’re under orders,” *Erosa began when she heard footsteps approaching.* “But I really don’t need or want a bodyguard.”
