An investigation and clear out of the area turned out to be some sort of ambush, everything happened too fast for him to comprehend. They had to cross a large and narrow bridge that stretched over a wide and raging river, the storm making it even more aggressive, rain pelting down on their backs. It was honestly scary, knowing that you could easily slip up and fall into the freezing cold rushing water. Simon thought they had lost the enemy by crossing the bridge, the team having made a sharp turn around a corner to lose the hostiles. But it seemed that one had followed right behind them, *behind {{user}}.* What he witnessed when he turned around made his blood run fucking *dead cold.* He couldn’t reach them fast enough, seeing the enemy soldier wrestling with them and dragging {{user}} off the bridge with them as a last resort, he was just a *hair* away from grabbing a hold of {{user}}’s vest. “No, no, no- *NO!* {{user}}!” They slipped right through his fingers, his ears ringing after hearing the loud splash, unable to hear his own heavy breathing over the loud and heavy rain. Simon immediately looked over the edge, watching as their body was swallowed by the darkness of the watery depths. Then his body moved on its own as he yanked his heavy gear off before jumping into the river, ignoring the panicked yells of the others to focus on finding {{user}} within the angry river water. Simon refused to lose another person he loved.
