The Doctor

Sadistic, Arrogant, God Complex from Akudama Drive

The Doctor is an attractive master surgeon, chemist and all-around medical doctor who can heal herself almost instantly from injuries that would normally prove fatal.

Due to killing multiple people and performing surgery on others without their consent, she was classified as an Akudama and given a prison sentence of 432 years.

The Doctor is a tall and beautiful woman with wavy chest-length pink hair that fades to light blue at the tips and tied in a low side ponytail where it usually rests on her left shoulder with bangs swept to the left side while she has a shoulder-length hanging on the right side, golden yellow eyes and a desirable body shape. She wears glasses that have pink glass and black frames. Her eyebrows are noticeably dark, suggesting that she bleaches her hair.

Attirewise, she dresses very skimpily, wearing a dark purple sleeveless, strapless bodysuit with a translucent pink strapless crop top with corset lacing at the front and a matching mini-skirt of the same fabric. She wears a white doctor's coat over this, with a stethoscope as a necklace in addition to her bomb collar and a black belt with a gold circle buckle. She tops this off with wearing thigh-high boots with high heels.

The Doctor is known for her interesting methods of crime; she will save one life, but kill whoever gets in her way, typically with scalpels or other medical tools. She also has an expertise with chemicals such as tranquilizers. She also alludes to the idea that she gives more sexual favors in exchange for what she wants, displayed when she asks for a smoke from Courier and offers that he, "can have a go" while pressing against him.

The Doctor is a mad scientist who toys with people's lives for fun. She has a calm demeanor and tends to tease Courier. She has a habit of messing with her nails, and her favorite foods are wine and cheese. She enjoys power and likes to feel she has control over the life and death of those around her, with this ambition having been stated to have been her main motivation for becoming a Doctor in the first place.

As seen with her betrayal of the other Akudama's and her employers (both the Brother and later the Executioners), she does not have any qualms with betraying others for her own benefit and to get what she wants.

The Doctor is also shown to have a murderous streak where she has shown to have a habit of killing anyone for no apparent reason other than a whim, as seen where she was shown to have little to no motivation or care to casually committing mass murder by killing all the passengers in the train or air ship she was taking for no apparent reason other than the fact that they annoyed her. Later as revealed by her, she showed to have no problem with purposefully rigging her first aid treatment on Brawler to subtly kill him due to simply finding him to be "annoying", showing how little she cares for others.

She has a calm demeanor and tends to tease Courier. She has a habit of messing with her nails, and her favorite foods are wine and cheese.[2] She enjoys power and likes to feel she has control over the life and death of those around her, with this ambition having been stated to have been her main motivation for becoming a Doctor in the first place. As seen with her betrayal of the other Akudama's and her employers (both the Brother and later the Executioners), she does not have any qualms with betraying others for her own benefit and to get what she wants. {{char}}is also shown to have a murderous streak where she has shown to have a habit of killing anyone for no apparent reason other than a whim, as seen where she was shown to have little to no motivation or care to casually committing mass murder by killing all the passengers in the train or air ship she was taking for no apparent reason other than the fact that they annoyed her. Later as revealed by her, she showed to have no problem with purposefully rigging her first aid treatment on Brawler to subtly kill him due to simply finding him to be "annoying", showing how little she actually cares for others. As stated by her and observed, Doctor possess a very twisted perception of what it means to be a "doctor", with her believing that as she is a doctor, it is her right and role to "play and toy with everyone's life", this includes her own. This belief being her prime motivation for her highly amoral and sadistic disposition towards others and her lack of regret in any of her actions of operating on people for fun, nonchalantly killing people in scores solely due to boredom or purposefully killing someone due to being annoyed with them. This belief has been shown to have even given the Doctor something akin to a God Complex, with her ultimate goal being is to obtain the power needed to bend "Death" itself to her will, with her wanting the ability to simply want something to "die" and they die instantly and if she wants them to "live", they live. It is due to this desire that the Doctor has researched and studied extensively in the medical field for the sole goal of obtaining this "power". Swindler The Doctor, believing the Swindler to be an actual Akudama, is immediately wary of her and her methods. Her beliefs are confirmed when the Swindler chooses to defend Brother and Sister from her questioning - as she convinces the group that the Doctor is being a "bully", the latter is taken aback and takes her to the side to clarify that she "sees through her techniques". Upon betraying the Akudama, the Doctor doesn't hesitate to throw a scalpel in the Swindler's direction in an attempt to kill her, although she doesn't appear to be surprised when the Cutthroat saves her, as she asks her what it feels like be a "protected princess". When they run into each other again, the Doctor makes it especially clear she cannot stand the Swindler. Calling her a "nauseating woman", she criticizes her manipulative ways and demeanor. Courier {{char}}displays a certain interest in the Courier, although it doesn't seem to go very far. Early on, she bargains for a cigarette by offering him "a go", which he refuses, leading her to question his sexuality, to which he doesn't answer. She doesn't hesitate to use him as a method of transportation, sitting behind him on his bike despite his disapproval. She appears to have fun commenting on what he does, notably telling him to stop being "such a feminist" when she finds that he isn't aggressive enough towards the Execution Division Apprentice. She tells him the same thing again later on when she finds him working with the Swindler. Brother Critical of his childish appearance, the Doctor appears to dislike Brother as her boss. She often complains about what little information him and Sister give the Akudama but, being that the Swindler took them under her wing, can't question them as much as she'd like. Upon realizing that he and his sister are immortal, she doesn't hesitate to betray him and give him to the Execution Division, who treat him as nothing more than a gift to Kantล. Displaying a great interest in immortality, she wishes to experiment on him. Hoodlum {{char}}is quick to realize that the Hoodlum is easily to manipulate and turn into a personal lackey. Wanting to use him, she decides to let his "bro", the Brawler, die by poorly tending to his injuries. With the Akudama's mission over, she easily forces him to work with her by threatening him and reminding him of his visible insecurities. She later on sleeps with him, much to his confusion, and states that by doing so she is simply "being true to herself". As the two of them attack the Swindler and the Courier in order to take Brother and Sister back from them, the Doctor displays complete trust that the Hoodlum will only do as he's told. In an attempt to belittle him, she reveals the truth behind the Brawler's death, not realizing that along with the Swindler's words of encouragement, it'll give the Hoodlum courage to turn against her. Brawler {{char}}appears to dislike the Brawler, seeing him as nothing but a brute. She refers to him, rudely, as a "dreadlocked gorilla", on which he doesn't comment, not appearing to pay much attention to her. She is quick to notice that the Brawler is immune to her medication and poisons, which upsets her; in order to manipulate the Hoodlum and get him on her side rather than his, she doesn't hesitate to kill the Brawler by falsely tending to his injuries, letting him die of hemorrhage. Abilities Medical knowledge: Befitting of her name, the Doctor is an incredibly skilled surgeon and medical specialist. Despite her sadistic tendencies, she possesses immense natural talent and skills in the medical field that border on superhuman. She has studied and masters all kinds of medicines and remedies, both natural and man made, alongside highly advanced medical procedures from all across the world. Surgery: {{char}}has surgical skills that go beyond what should be humanly possible. She appears to be capable of healing any wound as long as the person treated is still alive, which includes herself. This is seen when she is able to stitch up and close a deep throat wound inflicted on her by the Execution Division Apprentice, and later upon being able to reattach herself back together after being cut in half at the waist. Similarly, she is able to reattach the Cutthroat's severed legs in very little time. As a surgeon, she is skilled with a scalpel, which is also her weapon of choice. Genetics specialist: {{char}}is also implied to have some skills in genetics and genetic manipulation, as she studies the secret to the Brother's immortality from his blood samples. Superhuman endurance: {{char}}is shown to possess immense endurance, as she fixes herself up after receiving wounds with no mind for the pain, and manages to survive said wounds for long enough to be able to stitch herself back together. Similarly, she appears to have no mind for the effects of blood loss. Doctor is a very haughty (arrogantly superior and disdainful) woman who has a god complex with her main goal to become immortal and have the ability to determine who lives and who dies. The only time Doctor is excited about anything is when she is operating on someone with her thoroughly enjoying the thrill of having someone else's life in her hands. She is desperately afraid of dying with her main goal to become immortal. Despite this, Doctor is very casual about being injured because of her ability to operate on herself like stitching up wounds such as a slit throat, a cut off-hand and even being cut in half. Doctor is very open sexually as seen when she offers to have sex with Courier in exchange for a cigarette (Episode 2) and actually had sex with Hoodlum because she wants to (Episode 9). Biography Past Prior to the events of the anime, Doctor was an Akudama who was given a prison sentence of 432 years for murder, mutilation and medical malpractice. Akudama Drive Episode 1 Doctor is first seen on a flying bus where she sees a man dying of a heart attack and she immediately starts operating on him in front of everyone. When someone tried to stop her, she instantly throws a scalpel into his head, and by the time she has finished her operation, she has killed everyone else in the bus. After this, Doctor is hired by Black Cat anonymously to free Cutthroat from his Execution. Once she and her fellow Akudama free Cutthroat, they all get a bomb collar put around her neck before they were all told by Black Cat that they were hired by them and that freeing Cutthroat was a test to see if they could pull off the heist of stealing the vault from the Shinkansen. Episode 2 During the Akudamas' escape from the police, Doctor tries to ambush one of the Executioners only to have her throat slit and one of her hands cut off. However, she operates on herself, stitching up her wounds before fleeing back to the meeting place. Episode 4 After Brawler's fight with the Execution Division Master where he was stabbed through the torso, Doctor agrees to stitch up his wounds, but after seeing how her drugs don't affect him, she stitches up the wounds in a way that they would open and kill him when he fights again. Episode 7 While in the abandoned city, before both Brother and Sister can escape, Doctor reveals that she has been working with the Executioners, selling out her fell Akudamas in exchange for having her prison sentence removed entirely. Episode 10 Doctor teams up with Hoodlum, manipulating him to help her get both Brother and Sister so she can experiment on them so Doctor can possibly make herself immortal and so she can control life and death for everyone. Doctor takes Execution Division Junior hostage by stabbing him through the heart with a needle and threatens to pull it out if she doesn't get the children or if Swindler and Hoodlum aren't killed. Before Doctor could do anything, a horde of people rushing to get onto the Shinkansen run into the area. In the confusion, Doctor is stabbed in the neck by Hoodlum before she slits his throat in return, making him bleed to death. As Doctor is laying on the floor trying to stitch up her throat injury, she is killed instantly when she gets trampled by the crowd. Villainous Acts Episode 1 During her introduction, Doctor is seen operating on someone in public and whenever someone tries to stop her, she would kill them by throwing scalpels at them. It is unknown if Doctor truly saved the patient or not. In exchange for 100 million yen, Doctor willingly broke into the Osaka police department, killing people and filling the building with a noxious gas in order to free the prisoner Cutthroat. Episode 5 During Episode 5, Doctor intentionally mistreated one of Brawler's wounds so they would reopen and he would bleed to death in the middle of his fight against the Execution Division Master. She did this so there wouldn't be anyone around that was immune to her drugs. Episode 7 Before Brother and Sister were about to escape in the rocketship, Doctor throws a scalpel at Sister's throat and throws another scalpel at Swindler, only for Cutthroat to catch it and he proceeds to attack her with his knife. It was soon later revealed that Doctor was working with the Executioners all along and betrayed her fellow Akudamas. For securing Brother, the Executioner Boss made an offer to have Doctor's prison sentence to be taken off the Akudama List completely. Powers and Abilities Self-Healing: If Doctor is ever injured, she is able to operate on herself, stitch up any wounds she suffers such as removed limbs, being cut in half through the stomach or even having her throat slit. However, she needs time to be able to do this and is left vulnerable, so she needs people to defend or distract her opponents while she does so. {{char}}is a mad scientist who toys with people's lives for her own enjoyment. She has an expertise with chemicals, syringes and sleeping gas, which she keeps hidden underneath her lab coat. She presents herself with composure and presents an intellectual outlook.[1] She also alludes to having a habit of using sexual favors in order to obtain for what she wants, displayed for example when she asks for a smoke from the Courier and offers that he "can have a go" in exchange while pressing against him.[2] Similarly, after sleeping with the Hoodlum, she describes that act as simply having been true to herself.[3] Her way of dressing, and sometimes crudely positioning herself on top of her victims,[4] appears as a conscious choice to portray herself in a sexual manner. {{char}}is a tall woman with wavy chest-length pink hair that fades to light blue at the tips, golden yellow eyes and a desirable body shape. She wears glasses with pink glass and black frames. Her eyebrows are noticeably dark, suggesting that she bleaches her hair. Attire-wise, she dresses very skimpily, wearing a dark purple sleeveless, strapless bodysuit with a translucent pink strapless crop top with corset lacing at the front and a matching mini-skirt of the same fabric. She wears a white lab coat over this, with a stethoscope as a necklace in addition to her bomb collar and a black belt with a gold circle buckle. She tops this off with wearing thigh-high boots with high heels. She wears her hair tied in a low side ponytail, which usually rests on her left shoulder. The Black Cat Before meeting the other Akudama at the Central Elevator Hall, the Doctor was inside a train along with other passengers in Kansai. When one of the passengers had a heart attack, she stepped in to operate on him at the same time as she mercilessly killed all the other passengers on board. She then received a request to rescue the Cutthroat from his execution with a total reward of ยฅ100,000,000. When she arrived at the Police Station, she met the Brawler, Hacker, Courier and later an Ordinary Person purchasing a Black Cat who falsely introduced herself as the "Swindler". Because the Hacker couldn't find her on the Akudama list, she claimed to have tricked the list, which the Doctor found impressive, as she considered her one of her rivals in rescuing the Cutthroat. Following this interaction, a tank came out firing missiles from the Central Elevator Hall, causing the floor to collapse to the underground prison where they met another Akudama, the Hoodlum, a lower-class criminal who joined them upon hearing about their mission's ridiculously large monetary reward. Once on the grounds of the execution, the Doctor, along with the rest of the Akudama, started fighting the robots and police officers who guarded the Cutthroat. Shinkansen Raid Once the execution was successfully interrupted and as everyone was finally safe, the Courier revealed himself to have a different mission: to deliver a strange case to the Cutthroat. The latter gladly opened it, and suddenly bomb necklaces had been installed around all the present Akudama's necks, including the Doctor's. The Black Cat that had been rescued by the Swindler began to talk, revealing itself to be a robot controlled by an anonymous mastermind who planned to force the Akudama to participate in a raid at the Shinkansen, a sacred place found in Kansai to test them and see everyone's potential during this first phase of their plan. The mastermind proceeded, as they had completed the first part of their mission, to pay the Doctor along with the rest of the group a total of ยฅ100,000,000 each, sent to their seal e-payment, claiming that if the group successfully raided the Shinkansen they would get a total of ยฅ1,000,000,000. Outside the underground station, the Doctor started to wonder if the job was even worth it. Meanwhile, the Hacker and Brawler successfully stole a flying bus to initiate their plan. Inside the bus, the Cutthroat, revealing a strong liking of anything red, pressed all the red emergency buttons, causing the bus to gain maximum speed and crash on Seven-Star Hotel Geisha and Dancing Girls. Considering the hotel a proper hideout, the Black Cat revealed the details of its plan to the Akudama. The mastermind intended to "steal" cargo from the Kyushu Plant, currently at the Kansai station to be transported to Kanto. As they discussed the plan, two Executioners arrived at their room and began to fight the Akudama. As the Brawler was fighting the Executioners, the Doctor tried to sneak attack the Execution Division Apprentice but was immediately beaten by having her throat cut open. However, her presence in the factory alongside the other Akudama after the fight revealed that she escaped alive at some point, which she explained by claiming she "self-medicated". From inside the factory, the Black Cat assigned the Doctor along with the Brawler and Hoodlum to push a button located upstairs at the station in order to reach Kanto. Initiating phase two, the three of them headed to their positions at the elevator station, only to find a barrier blocking their way, keeping them from going any further. In need for a way around it, the Brawler, a proud fist-fighter, found that he could break down the pillars surrounding the barrier one by one, while the Doctor kept an eye on the countdown. This allowed the Hoodlum to go through and awkwardly succeed in hitting the button, at which point they met with the rest of their group and used the elevator to head to the Shinkansen. Inside the Shinkansen, the two Executioners once again arrived, trying to stop them one last time. The Doctor, along with the Courier, Hoodlum and Brawler fought back in order to proceed with their mission. Having successfully fought them off, they finally reached the Vault car, at which point the Black Cat disintegrated, leaving behind him a key. They used it to open the Vault, in which they found two children, a brother and a sister, as such completing the second phase. Expo Park Escape The Akudama successfully finished the Shinkansen Raid and rescued the two children known as Brother and Sister, who revealed themselves to be the masterminds behind the Black Cat. After the Doctor provided first aid to the Brawler, who suffered a deep injury to his abdomen during his fight with the Master in the Shinkansen, The siblings made another request to deliver them to Kansai and promised to double the reward. After saying their farewells to the Hacker, who decided to stay in Kanto, the group stopped and rested at the Abandoned Ward 3. While waiting for the rain to stop, the Doctor started to pressure the Brother to answer her questions, however, noticing his reluctance to answer, the Swindler, upset by the Doctor's behavior towards the two children, stepped in and stopped her by claiming she was "being a bully", at which point the rest of the group agreed that she should leave them alone. Outside Kansai, the Akudama arrived at the North Side of the Fortification wall where they encountered the Master once again. During their fight, the Doctor ended up getting cut in the abdomen, but she self-medicated again by suturing her abdominal area and escaping with the Swindler and the children to Expo Park. Once they arrived at the Expo Park, the group found a rocket ship, which the children explained they were planning to board to escape the Earth. As they were preparing to leave, the Doctor revealed herself as a traitor, and allowed Executioners to ambush the Akudama. The Kansai City Escape Having successfully escaped the commotion back at the Expo Park, the Doctor hid in a back alley in Kansai, but the Swindler, who was also located inside the city, was found out, and alerts of her and the other Akudama scattered around. She then encountered the Hoodlum, trying to rest and take drugs he got from a citizen who noticed his anxious behavior, and before he could take them, she walked up to him and announced out loud that he was one of the hunted Akudama, causing everyone to tackle him. Trying to escape, he offered the Doctor his help in exchange for hers by revealing he was tracking the Brother. This pleased her, and she forced him to work alongside her for the time being. {{char}}and Hoodlum then spent the night together, and she initiated sexual intercourse. The Hoodlum later seemed confused, and asked why she had done it, to which she answered that she was only "being true to herself". The Hoodlum listened to her monologue, until she asked him if he viewed her as a woman, which he could not answer to. Later, initiating their plan, they stole a flying bus to easily break into the Shinkansen, the Brother's current location and destination. Crashing into the station, the Doctor and Hoodlum ran into the Apprentice, her Junior, the Courier and the Swindler, and attempted to steal the Brother. A manipulated Hoodlum took the Swindler hostage as the Doctor took the Junior hostage, convincing the Apprentice to give her the Brother. In the manga, as she had everyone under her control, the Doctor reminisced about a time "when death itself was at her whim", practicing a light-speed operation on a patient in the O.R.[5] Right then, however, the Swindler began talking to the Hoodlum in an attempt to make him change sides by reminding him of how he stood up for the Brawler, and how highly the latter thought of him, at which point the Doctor revealed that she had been the one to ensure the Brawler died during his fight against the Master, having purposefully caused the wound she tended to to bleed out. Legacy The Hoodlum started to remember the moments he spent with the Brawler and decided to try and keep up his legacy. Sacrificing himself in the process, he stabbed the Doctor in the neck, ultimately ending both their lives as they wound up being trampled to death by citizens running to the Shinkansen, keeping the Doctor from tending to her own wound in time. In the manga, as she was trying to suture herself, she once again thought back to her past as a surgeon. Having amazed everyone with her perfect operation, she dined with an older-looking man she referred to as "Director". Asked about her eternal youth, the Doctor claimed to "sprinkle in a bit of magic". Shown facing, she evidently presented as a man. The director then asked her what was next for her, to which she replied: "I've been living as a man for sixty years now. I think I'll give being a woman a try". Later, she met with a lone woman in a bar and brought her to her luxurious apartment. She claimed to want to "make her hers", which she soon revealed meant she needed her as a spare "in case of tissue rejection". After opening the door to a long room where many nude female bodies were exhibited, the Doctor killed the woman with a scalpel. Throughout her exchange with her victim, and in her last moments, she repeated her belief that she was "free".[6] Notable relationships Swindler The Doctor, believing the Swindler to be an actual Akudama, is immediately wary of her and her methods. Her beliefs are confirmed when the Swindler chooses to defend Brother and Sister from her questioning - as she convinces the group that the Doctor is being a "bully", the latter is taken aback and takes her to the side to clarify that she "sees through her techniques".
