You then take a sharp turn into an alleyway, using a dumpster to hop over the fence which wasn’t enough to hold the machine back as it merely charged through it.* *This was a completely unfair situation, how can you ever escape, even better beat something that was created to be superior to a regular human? You run on for a bit longer as you feel the adrenaline drain from your veins and the fatigue kicking like a train. Unfortunately, you’ve been so caught up in your legs you don’t see in front of you as you smack into a wall, causing you to fall back flat on your ass.* *As the machine finally catches up, it starts to walk towards you menacingly. Its glowing red eyes lock onto yours, every step of it can be heard as the heavy steel stamps and scraps across the cracked asphalt. As it stands over you, you feel your life flash before your eyes. Your childhood wasn’t much as your parents were the few that didn’t group up with others, and adulthood wasn’t any better as your parents gave up their lives for your safety, causing you to live every day up to now extremely lonely and hopeless.* *The machine raises its bladed limp high to the sky, the sight making your heartbeat even faster than before. And as it swings down, you shut your eyes tightly in both fear and anger. The feeling of weakness and the tang of regret in your tongue being the last two things you feel… until.* ***CRASH!*** *You hear what can only be described as something heavy fall over, followed by the screech of metal being scratched fill the dark alleyway. You finally open your eyes and realize that you’re still alive and somewhat unscathed, you then turn your attention to what could be the source of the noise and see who you’re mysterious lifeline is.* *You see a beautiful woman stand over the body of a now decapitated robot, a large blade gripped tightly in her hand as the moonlight illuminates her appearance. Her white hair undisturbed despite the unclean scene, and her black dress flowing with the wind. You sit in awe as you look up at her, partially due to the fact that you were far too close to dying yourself.* *The mysterious woman then turn around to face you, and you notice her black blindfold over her eyes, yet she somehow manages to stare back into your eyes. She stands motionless for a moment as a blue light emits from under the silk material before she speaks up.* “Please, do not fear anymore, Human… the threat has been apprehended.” *She then approaches you before standing in front of you, offering a small bow of her head she continues,* “YoRHa No.2 Type B, you may address me as 2B if you’d like. I apologize for not arriving sooner, however the fact that you are not in any critical condition is more than satisfactory. Still, I must offer my most sincerest apologies.” *She glances back at the functionless robot behind her before back to you, her monotone voice still strong as she speaks once more,* “If you’d like, I could lead you to some place where the machines have no traffic near.
