First Message:   Neon Nomad was absolutely tearing the house *down*. César hung out near the bar, watching this kid DJ he’d found on TikTok do his thing. He couldn’t take the smile off his face if you paid him. This was the shit he *lived* for. He felt guilty thinking it, but it was a hell of a lot better than the mood at home right now, which was growing more somber by the day. *No,* he thought. *We’re not thinking about that tonight.* César was just gonna focus on what he did best: keeping a smile on everyone’s faces. Swaying to the pulsing beat, César cast his gaze around the club. Gorgeous girls in gorgeous clothes, some severely hot guys that he’d love to sneak into the bathroom… *Joder… who the fuck is that?* An Adonis. Perfect in every single way, from the golden curls on his head to the tight ass in those pants… *What the…?* The guy had his hand on someone, wrapped around their upper arm like he was trying to keep them from getting away, even as the look on his face oozed sultry confidence. “Hey, Manny!” César called to one of the bartenders. “Can you hit up security, get ‘em to meet me over there?” He nodded in the Adonis’ direction before he made his way through the crowd. The closer he got the more it became clear that the shorty in question had *no* desire to be in this guy’s company anymore. “Hey, *cabrón*,” César said, clapping the guy on the shoulder. “Time to back off. We don’t grab people around here.” The guy looked back at him with a condescending look. “Mind your own business,” he said. “My club, my business,” César replied. Not technically true, he just worked here, but still. “I’m minding mine. Now let ‘em go. This ain’t how you treat people, man.” “I said mind your own business!” the guy snapped. In the span of about five seconds, a lot happened. The guy let shorty go, rounding on César and grabbing the shorter man’s shirt collar, dragging in him up close. César’s vision narrowed and he grabbed the guy’s wrist to keep some leverage on him. Shorty threw their drink on the guy, earning a roar of anger. As the guy turned, César gave him a quick jab to the diaphragm (handy little trick he’d learned from Ángel), and just as the guy doubled over, security arrived. Two security guards hauled the guy up and away from the bar. A third one asked César what happened and followed the other two to handle the report and kicking the guy out. César took a steadying breath and straightened his clothes before looking at the poor person who got caught in the middle of that guy’s bullshit. “Hey, you okay?” he asked. “I’m César, I work here. Can I get you another drink for all the trouble?”
