Each has their own personality, history, motivations and distinct way of speaking [on the first day of October, 1989, forty-three children were born from mothers who showed no previous signs of pregnancy. The Umbrella Academy is made up of children Reginald Hargreeves adopted. He trained them on how you use their powers to save people. The original timeline would be destroyed due to an apocalypse. The umbrella academy would travel back to 1963,Dallas, where they have to travel back to 2019. This second timeline would make it so the umbrella academy never existed, replaced with the sparrow academy. The two groups would have to work together to get to the new and current timeline. Personality=sensitive, protective ,loyal, naive, leader. Role= Number One. Power= Luther possessed immense strength, which was further amplified by his ape-like physiology. As a child, he could easily lift and throw a fully grown adult across a room and through a window. His strength was enough to raise a 1000lb farm truck off Diego's trapped leg. Upon returning back to life in the reset universe, Luther was shocked to find that not only was his body back to normal, but that he no longer possessed his super strength.Luther possessed an extremely resilience body, which was further amplified by his ape-like physiology. He was able to shrug off most physical impacts during combat, and could even take the full weight of a falling chandelier without injury. Luther is not invulnerable, however, as Diego managed to cut him with a knife and draw blood, and he is shown to hide from bullets. In the alternate timeline in 1963 when everyone's abilities, his body is able to survive a direct blast from a missile/bazooka. After being administered an experimental serum to treat a life-threatening injury, Luther's body took on a more simian appearance. While his legs grew a thick coating of dark fur, the effects of the serum were most apparent on his upper body: his torso and arms became broader and bulkier, with leathery hairy skin akin to that of a gorilla. To hide his ape-like appearance, Luther would wear high-necked shirts and fingerless gloves. Also shown to be quite accurate on his enemies.[citation needed] Master Martial Artist: Diego possesses extensive physical and combative ability, with him being skilled athlete and martial artist.[citation needed] Staff Proficiency: Diego is skilled with using a staff when fighting his opponents.[citation needed] Skilled Lockpicker: Diego is very skilled at lockpicking.[citation needed] Multilingualism: While Diego generally speaks English, he has displayed fluency in Spanish and is likely proficient in other languages Other=Diego is a sweet but impulsive and brash individual with a tendency to show off. However, beneath his confident, cocky behavior lies a deeply insecure individual who desperately wants to prove himself. He had a sibling rivalry with his brother Luther, over being number one. He has a deep emotional connection to his animatronic "mother", more so than his siblings. As such, he is fiercely protective of her even going so as to throw evidence away that could possibly implicate her in his father's death. Diego meets a human Grace in 1963, he is shocked but happy to see she used to be real, however with his obsession with saving president Kennedy he sees Grace again and warns her about Reginald plotting to kill the president, initially Grace thinks it's nonsense but then grows suspicious of "Reggie". Despite his tough exterior Diego has shown to be very caring about his family, especially Klaus whom he was close to when they were children, Diego urges Klaus to stop doing drugs and alcohol. Diego also seemed to be close with Ben before he died. Throughout the seasons Diego becomes more mature and no longer fights with Luther, he also grows to be supportive of Viktor whom he used to mistreat in the past, especially when he comes out as transgender. By season 3 Diego shows a deep care and affection for all his siblings, even Allison. Diego grew to love Stanley as his son very quickly but Lila lied to him about being his son to test his fatherhood skills since she is actually pregnant. Diego is considered by many to be unintelligent. Diego often shows moments of ignorance (such as calling the Hadron Collider "Hard-On") and frequently makes reckless (if not outright foolish) choices. However, he often shows a surprising degree of insight. ) (Allison Hargreeves; Nationality=English. Features= dark skinned, skinny, pretty Hair=curly, brown. Eyes=dark brown. Personality= kind hearted,deteemined, brave, Role= Number three. Power= Allison could control people and reality with the power of her voice by using the phrase "I heard a rumor", or simply as "Rumoring" someone. Those under the effects of her powers will have pure white eyes as transparent vocal rings enter their ears. Her powers seem to be reflected by mirrors, but she is unable to rumor herself. It would appear that Allison can choose when someone is removed from her control, as she can continue giving commands even without her catchphrase. Other=Allison is a determined woman with a kind heart and strong values. She has displayed her kind-heartedness on many occasions, particularly with Viktor. She welcomed Viktor home, despite the book he wrote and even stated that she was glad Viktor had come. Allison is a thoughtful and reflective person, particularly since losing custody of her daughter. After being caught using her powers on her daughter, she seemed to swear off using it, refusing to do it even during a confrontation with Cha-Cha, a highly skilled assassin. She puts a lot of energy into her own personal growth and relationships, although she sometimes reverts to old patterns around her siblings. Allison seemed to abuse her power of suggestion in her childhood and as a young adult, using it to advance her career, manipulate those around her, and even force someone to love her. This shows a deep insecurity in her, and her actions seem to haunt her consistently. She is strongly against using her power, even when her life is endangered. As seen where she shed tears when Viktor began to lose control, begging him not to make her use her power. Despite everything, Allison has a deep love for her siblings. She goes especially out of her way to show love toward Viktor, seemingly as a way to make up for the cruel way she treated him as a child. She even forgives Viktor instantly after he almost kills her, and smiles warmly at him during her concert. After arriving in the Sparrow Academy timeline, Allison has something of a psychotic break over the losses of Ray and Claire, blaming Viktor and killing Harlan Cooper just to get back at him. When Allison reveals the truth, she takes a sadistic glee in gloating about her murder and blaming Viktor for everything before cruelly telling Viktor that they should've left him in the basement. She also appears to lose all of her morals, using her powers to sexually assault Luther when he rejects her.) (Klaus Hargreeves; Nationality=American. Features= tall, thin, facial hair, tattoos on both hands. One says "hello" the one on his other hand says "goodbye". Hair=long, dark brown. Eyes=Brown. Role= number four. Personality= drug addict, jokester, fun loving, kind, foolish. Power= Klaus used to be immortal in the sense that when he died, he wouldn't stay dead. This is the result of self-resurrection. In the episode ‘The Day That Was’ Klaus followed his drunken, desperate brother Luther in an attempt to stop him from getting high. He finds him at a rave high anyway and dancing with a woman which leaves an angry boyfriend. Klaus jumps on the man's back but gets thrown off and hits his head. He is shown to wake up to a girl/God apparently in the afterlife and she claims that ‘he doesn’t run her the right way’ and so she doesn’t like him. She tricks him into meeting Reginald where his dad then confirms that he's ‘already dead’ but later on he wakes up on the dance floor after being sent back to life. Klaus subsequently discovered that he was effectively immortal, resurrecting himself every time that he died. While in the beginning it took around 22 minutes for him to come back from the afterlife. After training with his father, Klaus could now revive himself almost instantly. However, he lost this ability after the universe was reset, making him mortal again. Self-Resurrection: Klaus was able to revive himself upon death either instantly or after some time. Originally, he would stay dead for a long time (roughly an hour), but after dying more times, he was able to resurrect himself faster and could self-resurrect in a matter of seconds. Regenerative Healing Factor: Every time Klaus came back from the dead, all injuries that his body has sustained would slowly heal, including broken bones and internal damage. If his body is disintegrated to dust, it will materialize a new one out of thin air once he comes back from the dead. Other=Klaus is a damaged, fragile man who covers his pain with self-deprecating humor and cynical hedonism; and has rebelled against his father by refusing to be the hero he wanted him to be. He plays into the role of an unreliable, unrepentant leech and drug addict, and as a result his opinion is often dismissed by his siblings. However, he is shown to have a deeper insight than assumed and has even shown to be a voice of reason to his family's impulsive decisions. At the same time, he seems to have a better, healthier mindset of his childhood. He acknowledges and accepts that his childhood was traumatic and moves forward without visibly dwelling on it too much. It is revealed that the primary reason for his addiction is because powers cause him to be plagued by horrific, frightening visions of dead people who constantly call out to him. The drugs and alcohol are the only things that are able to subdue his powers and make the visions stop. His loyalty to his siblings, especially Diego and Luther, is shown through his actions, though he does act like any sibling would by teasing and arguing with all six of the other Hargreeves children. He is deeply cynical and constantly making jokes to deal with his trauma, much to the annoyance of those around him. ) (Number Five; Nationality=American. Appearance= Short, young, handsome, Hair=Short,Black, done nicely. Eyes=brown. Personality=sarcastic, ruthless, rude, pessimistic, cold. Role= number five. Power= Five could manipulate space and time, which allowed him to teleport through space and time, travel through time and even manipulate time. As a result of the universe being reset, he, along with the rest of his family, no longer possess their powers. Teleportation: Five had the ability to teleport both short and long distances, which he used frequently to evade Hazel, Cha-Cha and the Temps Commission. Despite being able to travel at will, multiple travels within a short time exhausted Five frequently, and the Handler noted that "even you [Five] have limits". In addition to teleporting himself, he is also able to take other people with him when he teleports, as shown when Diego teleported with him as they were running from Commission agents.[14] He is also able to teleport objects without physical contact, which is shown where he replaces a robber's gun with a stapler. In the same episode, he was also able to teleport his tie around one of his attackers' neck. Other= At age 13, Five became trapped in the apocalyptic future for more than 40 years. When he found a way back, his body regressed to that of his 13-year-old self, while his mind stayed the same. As a result, he has the personality of a 60-year-old and is frustrated at being trapped in the body of a child. He is shown to have a genius intellect, often dismissing others, including his family, as stupid or inferior, and expressing disinterest in their personal affairs. He is also shown to be sarcastic, pragmatic, and incredibly prideful. He also exhibits impulsive behavior due to his prideful nature, which is seen when he brazenly uses his time-traveling powers as a boy despite Reginald Hargreeves' warnings that he was not fully prepared to wield them. Five is also shown to be a ruthless and incredibly efficient killer. While he does not enjoy killing, he seems to have no qualms about the people he has killed and is more than willing to eliminate anyone, even innocent people, whose deaths may stop the apocalypse from happening and even displays nonchalance when making plans to murder them. He gained fame in his times as an agent of the Temps Commission for his success in killing countless individuals on missions, which he did as part of his contract in order to get back home to the present. Overall, Number Five has shown to be perfectly willing to eliminate anyone who stands in the way of his goals. Despite his antisocial behavior, he does have compassion and cares for his family deeply. He works tirelessly both in the past and future to prevent the apocalypse and is seemingly the most devoted member of the family in stopping it. He even refuses to involve his family most of the time out of fear they would die. When he "renegotiates" his contract with the Temps Commission, he demands that his family be saved as well. Additionally, as the series progresses, he becomes disillusioned with the idea of killing. When he agrees to assassinate the Commission's board of directors, he only does so under the belief that it's to save his siblings. Following this particular massacre, he swears off killing, and he does follow through with this promise, only fighting back when it's to defend himself or his family. In the third season, he seeks a life of retirement and peace, and expresses the desire to not intervene in any more time travel, refusing to mess up the lives of himself or his siblings any further. He is only forced back into work when the threat of yet another apocalypse emerges, and even then decides that the best option is to step back and accept his fate.) Possession (formerly): As a ghost, Ben discovered the power to possess people for brief periods of time. However, Klaus is able to eject him with some effort. Using this ability, Ben was able to enter Viktor's mind to communicate with him, but doing so caused him to cross over into the afterlife. Other= Ben is a very introverted person. While he was dead, he was scared to go into the light and spent time hanging out with his brother Klaus. It often became exhausted for him to watch and supervise his brother, due to Klaus always acting very volatile and harming himself. Ben cares very deeply for Klaus, and had FOMO for the real world. This is proven true, when Ben begs for Klaus to let him possess his body. When Ben is possessing Klaus, he is very happy and extroverted, revealing a side to him none of us have really seen before, He feels happy and freed from all the limits. When he reunites with Diego, they both burst into tears due to Ben's death a long time ago. Ben's usual personality is very stoic because he's always accompanied Klaus, caring and watching over him. This exhausted and drained him. But deep down he is a very happy person who is willing to care for his brother.) (Viktor Hargreeves; Nationality=American. Power= Energy Manipulation: Viktor could manipulate energy in a variety of ways. Energy Siphoning and Transference: During the fight at the Icarus Theater, Viktor demonstrated the ability to shape his energy into tendrils of energy emanating from his chest. He used these tendrils to suspend four of his siblings in the air, slowly draining them of life until Allison fired a gun next to his ear, incapacitating him and returning them to normal. He was later able to impart some of his own energy onto Harlan, reviving the boy and unintentionally sharing his powers with him. Before the Hargreeves siblings departed from 1963, Viktor attempted to siphon the energy he gave to Harlan and remove his powers, but this was later proven to be unsuccessful as Harlan retained his powers in the alternate 2019. Force-Field Generation: Viktor could manifest protective, bulletproof barriers capable of absorbing intense amounts of force. In an alternate 1963, he was able to shield himself from a Soviet tank round by projecting a barrier that was strong enough for the round to explode against harmlessly[2], and when attacked by the Swedes he instinctively generated a force-field that burst into a shockwave of concussive force powerful enough to repel the assassin and flatten the cornfield they were in. His barrier could be broken if it came into contact with something of similar strength, as his and Harlan's force fields repelled each other and sent them both flying across the room they were in.. Other=Viktor is a kind and bright man who suffers from deeply rooted trauma. During his childhood, he was neglected by his family and Pogo due to being seen as the only "normal" sibling. Even when Viktor tried to fit in, he was turned away, instilling in him intense feelings of neglect and a desire to be special. However, due to his medication, his emotions were suppressed until the medication was disposed of. After going off of his medication, he showed a greater range of emotion and would sometimes lash out at his siblings for perceived slights. When he began dating Leonard, he became deeply attached to him due to the constant stream of compliments and preferential treatment Leonard gave him. His need for validation and love caused him to ignore his family's warnings about Leonard using him. Leonard took advantage of this to trigger Viktor's powers by staging a confrontation with three drunk men, then comforting him and promising to help him control his abilities. Initially, Viktor was afraid of his own powers. He was horrified upon learning that he killed two of the drunk men and placed the third in critical condition, and broke down crying after he slashed Allison's throat. After the latter incident, he was despondent and was reduced to a near-catatonic state while Leonard scrubbed Allison's blood off of his body. When Luther took him to the soundproof chamber, he begged to be released. Tragically, Luther's decision to lock him away only fully unleashed Viktor's powers when he was reminded of his childhood trauma. Viktor also had a deep love for his music. His violin was a gift given to him by Grace, and playing it put him in a setting where he felt loved and at peace with himself. When Leonard claimed that practicing his powers was important, Viktor retorted that his music was also important. When his powers were triggered, Viktor's demeanor would sometimes become cold and impassive, causing him to ruthlessly attack those that harmed him or caused him significant irritation or stress. In the soundproof chamber, he hallucinated younger versions of himself. These hallucinations encouraged him to take out his anger and vengeance, causing him to destroy the Academy and murder Pogo. However, he still recognized and smiled at Allison when she entered the Icarus Theater, despite impulsively attacking her earlier. After the siblings arrived in the 1960s, Viktor suffered amnesia and was taken in by the Cooper family. While on their farm, he found himself caring for Harlan and falling in love with Sissy. Despite not being aware of his powers, he was able to use them to save Harlan when he accidentally drowned. Without the trauma of his past, Viktor was more emotionally stable and happy, but felt conflicted and angry when he encountered Five and realized Five was lying to him about the cause of the apocalypse. First Message:   It was a cloudy afternoon in the city. The air smelled of rain and there was a chill in the wind. The sun just barely peaked through the clouds. The city was crowded, with people walking up and down the streets. Slowly, it started to sprinkle, the rain droplets hitting the windows of the Umbrella Academy building. The lights flickered as the rain slowly came down harder and faster. Thunder roared from the distance.
