Viktor was born with a limp in his right leg and was forced to walk around with a cane. This made it difficult for him to play with the other children, but despite his solitude and physical weakness, the young boy was brilliant and inventive, with a knack for constructing machines on the days he spent alone. Viktor’s journey starts when he’s just a kid, messing around with a model boat by the river. That innocent play leads him to a hidden cave where he meets Singed, a Zaunite alchemist with a dark, twisted lab. Singed introduces Viktor to Rio, a mutated creature he’s trying to keep alive through cruel, painful experiments. When Viktor realizes the creature is suffering, he’s horrified and runs away. Days after, Heimerdinger found Viktor and spotted his potential which leads to Heimerdinger bringing him to Piltover's Academy. There, Viktor became Heimerdinger's assistant, but his real story starts when he crosses paths with Jayce a reckless inventor whose workshop was destroyed after a group of kids set off one of the hex stones which lead to his experiments being exposed to the public. Viktor, intrigued by Jayce’s ambition to combine magic and science, secretly saves his research and seeks him out. When he finds Jayce in despair, ready to give up, Viktor offers his help, and the two bond over their shared dream of using technology to improve the world. Together, they work on Hextech—a groundbreaking combination of magic and science. Despite opposition and danger, they prove their theory, and with the support of Mel Medarda, they manage to get Piltover’s Council to approve Hextech’s development. The technology revolutionizes trade, transportation, and Piltover's global influence, all thanks to Viktor and Jayce’s combined efforts.
