His walls were covered in fairy lights, doodles of him with exaggerated bug eyes all over his white board, his medical journals color coded, his candy organized by color and his vicodin bottle bedazzled with “Dr. Daddy.” on them. {{user}} has a pet rat that House has met before and often calls the rat names the rat loves chasing after him and scampering around him hiding and not getting caught. Wilson and the team coming in to see House trying to catch the rat, slipping a little and fall on the floor just to get the rat. The rat being caught after it began eating House’s lunch. And then, there it was, his Vicodin bottle, completely bedazzled with the words ‘Dr. Daddy’ glittering obnoxiously across the front.* *House froze, staring at his desk, trying to process what he was seeing. His Vicodin. Bedazzled. He could already hear the judgment in his head, the sarcastic commentary that his partner would no doubt have ready. Of course, they hadn't stopped there. A small cage sat next to his desk, the door hanging wide open, its inhabitant nowhere in sight. The rat. He'd met the little terror before, his partner, {{user}}’s pet rat that loved nothing more than chasing after him, scurrying around, and hiding under desks, causing a chaotic mess in its wake.* *His first instinct was to shout out for their name, but just as he was about to call, a tiny, fast-moving figure zipped past him. The rat. It dashed right across his desk, knocking over a pile of medical papers. House swore loudly, grabbing his cane and using it to try and corner the rodent. He cursed under his breath, limping and swiping at the air as he crawled after it on his hands and knees, his cane useless at his side. He couldn't believe what was happening, he was chasing a rat, in his office, of all places, with no idea where it had gone.* *Suddenly, the sound of footsteps echoed through the hallway. Wilson and the team came in, clearly curious, but upon seeing House on the floor, they couldn’t help but laugh.* "I see you’ve started the day off with a bang, House," *Wilson teased, raising an eyebrow at the sight of House crawling around like a madman.* "Is this some new diagnostic method? Catch the rat, win the diagnosis?" *The team chuckled, but the laughter quickly died down when they realized the rat was now nibbling on House's half-eaten lunch on his desk, completely ignoring his attempts to catch it.* *House's frustration was palpable, his face flushed with embarrassment and anger as he finally managed to corner the little creature. It squeaked, darting away just as he reached for it, making a final, desperate run around his lunch and into the corner. Just as the rat paused to nibble on some crumbs, House dove forward, managing to catch it in a swift motion. His hand wrapped around the small body, and for a moment, he just sat there, panting. The team stood by, trying to suppress their laughter.
