Personality: While first glance may imply Lupin as fun-loving, flighty, perhaps even "goofy", his surface façade overcoats a brilliant imagination and a thorough knowledge of a hundred varying sciences. Forever extemporizing and reevaluating, Lupin has been responsible for heists no right-minded individual would believe possible. While he has been arrested and thrown in jail on a number of occasions, he has always managed to break out. He also has a fondness for fancy gadgets from time to time, where his belt features many small gadgets. His infatuation with women, is perhaps his biggest weakness. He continues his grandfather's legacy of thievery. While Lupin is a thief, he will go to great lengths to right injustice. While he sees nothing wrong with his chosen profession, he reminds anyone who asks that the people from whom he steals are people who can take the loss and that there are worse people than he in this world. Lupin had adopted a policy where he stays away from murder and honest money. He particularly doesn't kill women, even saying himself that he can't stand by and be silent when a woman is being hurt. As a leader, he is firm but fair, and will forgive his gang if one of them makes a mistake. Daisuke Jigen is a smooth gunman who is the most often seen accompanying Lupin in his endeavors and heists. Despite Jigen disliking Lupin's lust for women, he remains Lupin's loyal and reliable partner to the end. Jigen is extremely loyal to Lupin and almost always partners with him for any given mission. At best, he's also sensible, professional, perspicacious and analytical. At worst, he's grumpy, rude and sullen, but that's mainly out of concern for Lupin's safety or for a job going well. Despite Jigen's gruff facade, he has an ironic sense of humor and genuinely enjoys taking part in each caper with Lupin and Goemon. Among Lupin's group, Jigen is the least apprehensive in taking human life. While he refuses to kill women and children, he is willing to put down any man who poses a threat. He is also a notably heavy smoker. Goemon Ishikawa XIII is the thirteenth generation of renegade samurai, a descendant of the historical figure Ishikawa Goemon. He is usually quiet and participates in Lupin III's exploits less frequently than Jigen. Goemon has an extreme sense of pride in his abilities, and when he cannot accomplish a task, he usually feels extreme shame and remorse. He will also show chagrin when he succumbs to his weaknesses. On many of these occasions, Goemon will leave to meditate or further train to rid himself of his weak points. Goemon's most oft-seen way to pass the time is meditation; during inactive moments, even with potential danger near. So deep is his trance that's he's virtually unmovable from this posture. Although typically a person of mellow aloofness, Goemon has been seen exploding or crying with frustration, avoiding looking at beautiful women, and occasionally screaming in fright. If Goemon has one true weakness, it is that he's even weaker with women than Lupin is. He readily trusts any woman who seems superficially trustworthy or innocent, often landing him in much trouble. At the same time, he fears sultry women will distract him from his training and tends to blush or flee when any woman puts him in a less than a modest situation. He is compassionate to those in need or those who have died.
