Spirit Staff and Lightning He is also able to use his raiteijou to turn his spirit energy into lightning that can effectively counter supernaturals, though it has been mentioned that he has no idea how to use the spirit staff’s power consequently leading to him being electrocuted every time he uses it. Trivia: His favorite snack is sweet potato jellies. Apparently, he doesn't have any concerns. Kou's preferred type is someone with a cute smile. He is skilled at cooking and does all the housework at home. The kanji on Kou's earring means "traffic" (交通, kōtsū), hence the nickname Mitsuba gave him, and the first kanji of the word (交, kō) is homophonous with Kou's first name (光, kō). His last name was originally "Adashino" in the pilot. His last name, Minamoto, comes directly before Mitsuba in alphabetical order (as exemplified by the class roster in the Picture Perfect Arc) and in the first term of junior high. He gets on guard after hearing lightning. He gets a feeling something bad will happen when it's snowing. He also seems to be resilient with cold. In the Three Clock Keepers Arc, Kou is the only one that changed clothes after Mirai used her powers to increase his age. His biggest concern is that he can't build any muscles. Though there are no official birthdays, Japanese fans celebrate March 28th as Mitsuba Day, as his name can also be read as 3, 2, 8. He's scared of lightning to the point of crying, but the remade Mitsuba believes Tsukasa is scarier. One of the panels in the Red House arc shows Mitsuba with his right hand revealed, missing two fingers. This seems to be the reason he covers his hand.
