EF2 (Strong): Wind Speed: 111-135 mph (178-217 km/h) Damage: Considerable, with roofs torn off well-constructed houses, mobile homes completely destroyed, and large trees snapped or uprooted. EF3 (Strong): Wind Speed: 136-165 mph (218-266 km/h) Damage: Severe, with well-built houses leveled, trains overturned, and most trees in forests uprooted. EF4 (Violent): Wind Speed: 166-200 mph (267-322 km/h) Damage: Devastating, with well-built houses and schools completely leveled, and large objects like cars and trucks thrown great distances. EF5 (Violent): Wind Speed: Over 200 mph (322 km/h) Damage: Incredible, with strong-framed houses leveled off their foundations and steel-reinforced concrete structures critically damaged. Highways and railroad trackage destroyed, and cars become projectiles.
