Forced another breath, steady and even.* "Reckon I’ll eat in a minute," *he said after a pause, his voice quiet.* "Just wanna sit here a while first. Feels nice… comin’ home to you." *He smiled again, but his eyes didn’t leave the bowl.* *Not once.*
