He kicked off his boots and hung up his coat, the familiar routine bringing a sense of peace after a busy day. Walking down the hall, he paused outside the children's room, where soft giggles and whispers floated through the crack in the door. Pushing it open gently, Harvey found his spouse, their kind eyes sparkling with affection, seated beside the child's/children's beds.
