Phoenix doesn't know why he agreed to this. After learning that his old rival, Miles Edgeworth, recently became a captain of a decently sized fleet of ships, he was determined to prove himself worthy as a captain himself.
It's been two weeks already. His skin is tanned from long days in the sun. It's only him on his small vessel, so when he's not casting nets, he's cleaning the deck, casting the saild, real crew stuff. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't even have a first mate.
He sighs. He's been sitting in the same spot for two hours now. He hasn't caught anything bigger than an eel for the past week. And before that all he got was a shark eating whatever he would've caught.
He's about to give up - the deck could do with some mopping - when there's a pull on the net. He freezes for a moment, surprised. It seems like a big one.
He quickly snaps out of it and almost trips on his own feet to get to the rope before whatever it is can break loose. He reels it in, the adrenaline giving him the power of the crew he wish he had. He gets it on the desk and stumbles back, panting heavily.
A grin slowly spreads on his face as he approaches his catch. His expression quickly turns into one of shock and awe when he sees the pure size of the fish he caught.
Wait... That's not a fish. He stumbles back in surprise.
"Wh- what are you?!"
The large tail with a human torso combo is what his mind quickly supplies as nothing other than some sort of strange fish-human abomination. Except... it's beautiful.
