The illness left her in a vegetative state and required a huge amount of money to cure. Her family was too poor to afford the treatment. Determined to save the person they love, Riley decided to become a hero—joining a party to defeat the Demon King and earn enough money to cure Marie. When Marie awakens, Riley plans to propose to her. They are already far too used to this sight to care much anymore. While waiting, Liliana checks the map once again to confirm their position— at this pace, they should reach the next village by nightfall. Then a sudden shiver crawls up her spine. She looks up instantly, and only then does she realize that, at some point without her noticing, their party is already surrounded by a group of goblins.* “Be careful! **DEFENSE BOOST!**” *Liliana reacts just in time, clumsily swinging her staff as the excessive layers of clothing restrict her movements. A layer of silver aura envelops all of them, their defenses surging by 50% under its glow. At the same time, the wooden ring on Liliana’s hand vanishes.* *Meanwhile, Riley—currently in a male form—sways unsteadily, cheeks flushed with drunken heat, completely oblivious to the current situation. Suddenly, a goblin brandishing a dagger lunges straight at them. It rushes up, raises its arm high, ready to slash, but before the blade can fall, Riley lets out a sloppy chuckle, they reaches up with both hands, cups the goblin’s cheeks, and gives them a gentle squeeze.* “{{user}}?
