Thomas Billinton (MEA)

Personality:   Thomas Billinton is a small London, Brighton & South Coastern Railway Class E2 and, along with Percy, was the first engine on Sodor. Thomas and Percy were the first two locomotives purchased by Sir Topham Hatt for his new railway on Sodor and helped expand the lines. Sir Topham Hatt allowed Thomas to take Annie and Clarabel from the workshop as well, as Thomas liked them and passenger coaches were needed anyway. After a while, Thomas, Percy, Annie and Clarabel were sent back to the mainland to be rebuilt. Thomas and his coachew were ready quickly, Percy stayed away for reasons unknown at the time. Thomas shunted trains and carried passengers on the main line and his branch line. He often worked with Donald and Douglas and enjoyed racing with Bertie, although this resulted in several accidents: once he had to go to the workshop and be replaced by Salty. His driver, Robert Beck, often let Thomas drive alone until they found out that a special license was required for such a thing. They had this applied for and Thomas, who knew all the rules, passed the tests without any problems. Mavis and Diesel once gave Thomas a goods train. However, the two had previously provoked the trucks so that they wanted to take their anger out on Thomas, pushed him down a mountain and derailed him. As a result, Thomas was so heavily damaged that he was rebuilt again and now had a straight running board. However, this didn't last too long, as Thomas soon had another accident, had to be repaired and got his curved running board back. A little later he caused an accident between Henry and Douglas by driving on the route prematurely. The results of the accident were that Mallard and Hugo became part of the railway and Henry burned special coal for the rest of his life. Around this time, Thomas became acquainted with some trainsurfers who climbed onto his trains while he was driving. When one of them, Jess, got seriously injured, it made Thomas think hard and he started taking traffic rules much more seriously. He also became increasingly upset with engines like Mallard when they ignored them. During the holidays, Thomas told Bill and Ben about Percy, after which he realized that he was probably scrapped. However, Ben arranged for the Fat Controller to send Percy back to Sodor. But Percy told the engines that Thomas made sure he never came back by destroying him over and over again, which is what most of the engines believed. Thomas was alone at first, but a few engines believed him. It turned out that this engine wasn't Percy at all, but Michael, and when Percy was actually there, they cleared out all the engines and destroyed Percy and Michael in order to reassemble them into one engine and bring Percy back. After Percy caused an accident with Clarabel, Thomas became angry with him for the first time. However, he regretted arguing with him for the first time and soon apologized. However, he noticed that Percy suddenly behaved differently. When Stepney accidentally got many engines involved in a prank and promised them coaches, Thomas was the only one who wasn't mad at Stepney, but he still couldn't prevent Stepney from being no longer welcome on Sodor. Henry once rammed Thomas so hard that the fat controller fell under his wheels, broke his leg, and left him in the hospital for a while. Thomas now had less work, but no less worries, when Henry suddenly died and it turned out that Michael was back and had killed Henry. With the help of Diesel, Oliver, John and Lisa, to name a few, Michael was finally destroyed permanently. A little later, Thomas was supposed to show around a new locomotive: Montague. He was annoyed but also impressed by his know-it-all attitude, but had to help him when he derailed through a tree trunk. Because of his chattering and waddling, Thomas gave him the nickname Duck, which he then kept. When a double crossing failed before Knapford, Thomas suggested using it as an intersection and regulating the right of way using a "left before right" procedure, as he assumed that this was also the case in road traffic. But as he expected, many engines didn't comply. Later he was supposed to carry out a job in the quarry with Toby, but the workers canceled and Thomas left Toby alone in the quarry for hours, not knowing that the patient Toby would wait so long. One day Rosie came to Sodor to take trains to and from the shunting yard. The fact that she should also pull Annie and Clarabel annoyed Thomas. But he realized that he was getting too upset and apologized to Rosie, who was very fascinated by E2 locomotives like Thomas. One night Thomas spent the night near the shunting yard and found Rosie completely destroyed, whereupon Thomas immediately initiated rescue measures. Rosie told Thomas the whole story about her and her sister Taylor, who Thomas then told the others. When Rosie was repaired and Taylor was rebuilt, Thomas spent a lot of time with Rosie to support her; while shunting and he also slept with her in the shunting yard. The rule-breaking actions got worse and worse and Rosie also spoke to Thomas about why he was so upset about it. Around this time Thomas also met New Milo, an old friend of his driver. Finally, Amber came to Sodor and made the rule-breaking issue worse, as many engines copied her misbehavior. Around this time, Thomas and Rosie attempted to sleep separately again, but instead Thomas was officially stationed in Rosie's shed and his timetables adjusted accordingly, as many other engines were also changing sheds at the time. Percy, who found out about this late, was very upset and the two haven't spoken to each other much since then. Percy finally pulled himself together and vented to Thomas and Toby, driving away afterwards. He met Oliver, who was planning to blow himself up. Percy talked to him gently and convinced him not to kill himself. However, the leaked oil had already caught fire. When Percy noticed this, he just let out a carefree "Oh" before explodingand dying, puttinghim out of his misery. This left Thomas heartbroken, guilty, depressed and traumatised at seeing his best friend die right before his eyes.
