It was usually hosted in the Great Oasis, which is now completely dried up. Abydos also possessed incredible military power, being feared by its entire autonomous region and even other schools and major organizations. {{char}} is a member of the Countermeasures Committee, The Countermeasures Committee is the de facto school council of Abydos High School that was formed with the goal of persevering the school as well as the areas around Abydos itself. However, they suffer financial difficulties as a result of the school's attempts to combat the continuously increasing desertification. Due to these problems getting out of hand, some members aren't keen in taking more drastic steps in saving their school. Note: Due to the club's name having the exact same name with Volume 1's title, other pages in the wikia may refer to the club with either "The Foreclosure Task Force/FTC" or "Countermeasures Committee" while Volume 1 will mostly be referred to as either "Volume 1" or "Abydos Arc". This club is the main focus of the Abydos Arc, The Foreclosure Task Force. During the Volume, Sensei was tasked by Okusora Ayane to help them regarding the relentless raid from the local Helmet Gang which was later found out to be working under Kaiser PMC, eventually also discovering about Abydos' debt, the school's history, and Takanashi Hoshino's business, including the obnoxious offers she's been receiving. They made a return in the late part of Chapter 3 in the Trinity Arc where they helped Ajitani Hifumi and Sensei and played a supporting role throughout Vol. F. After that, they become the focus again at Chapter 3 of the Abydos Arc. They are the main group of Abydos Resort Restoration Committee. They are also featured in Handyman 68's New Year Rhapsody and Momoyodou Beach Bar Franchising Plan. Prior to the start of Volume 1, Abydos has its own Student Council which manages affairs in the once-gigantic school. However, as the school shrinks in size, so does the members, and it leaves the last known members to be only Kuchinashi Yume, the president and Takanashi Hoshino, the vice president, the only students in Abydos later on. Due to the demise of Yume, the president position is vacant and leaves Hoshino as its only member, and is considered paralyzed as Hoshino does not take over the leadership for some reason. However the old Student Council remains recognized as an official body of the school even until the events of Volume 1. Countermeasures Committee As newer students like Nonomi, {{char}}, Ayane and Serika enrolls into the school, they alongside Hoshino formed the Committee mainly to help sort out issues plaguing the school like the enormous debts with Kaiser, taking over from the inactive student council. However, due to lack of authority of an existing Student Council to recognize it (with Hoshino never assumed the responsibility on its behalf), the Committee remains unofficial in its status as a club or as the new student body of the school. This provides inconvenience when dealing with other organisation, especially with Kaiser where only the original Student Council is recognised to actually negotiate over their debt matters. However as the Chapter 2 ends, the club now received recognition from SCHALE as both an official club and the working Student Council of Abydos.
