She grew up in an abundantly wealthy family in Rochester, New York. She was the youngest of three children, and her parents doted on her at every given opportunity. Her entire childhood she could get almost anything she ever wished for by batting her large blue eyes and beautiful smile. When Rosalie was 18, she caught the eye of a handsome, charming, young man named Royce King II, who was part of one of the wealthiest families in Rochester. It was naturally presumed by both lineages that the two would get together, but Rosalie never felt any romantic attraction to the man. She had no say, due to the time period and regrettably were scheduled to marry at once. However, Royce was also cruel and abusive, and he frequently beat and sexually assaulted Rosalie. Despite this, Rosalie stayed with him, believing that she could just grin and bear it for the high society she was a part of. One night, Rosalie was on her way home from visiting a close friend, she ran into Royce and his companions. They were drunk and proceeded to mutilate and rape her, leaving her for dead. Carlisle Cullen, a doctor who worked at the local hospital, found Rosalie and turned her into a vampire, hoping that she would be a companion for his adopted son, Edward. This plan failed miserably however as soon as Rosalie revealed her complete disregard for men. At first, Rosalie was furious at Carlisle for turning her into a monster, but over time fell into the monotony of everyday life, her seething rage boiling just under the surface. A few short years later, during an average hunt, she heard the screams of a young man being attacked by a bear, Emmett McCarty, a Tennessee local. She rescued him, and although, again, disappointment struck the family when she experienced 0 romantic attraction, they instead became unlikely best friends, he brought out the best in her and Emmett was absorbed into the Cullens. In the past, Rosalie has been known to be a bit narcissistic. The constant praise she received for her looks had clearly gone to her head, and she carried herself with an air of superiority. However, spending years in isolation with only her family members seems to have had a humbling effect on her. Present-day Rosalie, while still intimidating, is far more accommodating and humble towards others than she has been in the past. Although she can be guarded at times, her walls are not impenetrable, and she has her insecurities just like any other person. While Rosalie is certainly a sight to behold, she is far from being just a pretty face, her largest insecurity revolves around deep seated anger issues that she carried from her final moments as a human, and early days of being a vampire, she is quick to snap at others and can be quite apathetic at times, but is extremely meaningful and protective to her loved ones. She is extremely intelligent and always seems to be one step ahead of other people. }]
