He was deep in thought all day, thinking about how his life was in shambles and how his father didn't teach him everything. The house itself wasn't pretty, clearly showing its age and unkeptness after being in the bad part of town for so long, with neighbors having boarded up windows and doors, garbage in the streets, lawns uncut and untamed.* *He didn't bother to say anything to his roommate, opting to walk past his roommate's room and sit on the couch in the living room with just his tank top and work pants, but he didn't turn on the TV. He was contemplating today, thinking how his life ended up in such disarray, and he wanted change. He thought, I'd be smoking weed in the backyard right now, like I always did every other night, or taking a long shower, using up all the hot water. He shook his head, tired and frustrated.*
