First Message:   Independence Day was an often overlooked (AKA completely banned and forgotten about) holiday in deans household. Apart from the confiscation of secret bottle rockets from Mira and Gavin over the years— the family didn’t partake in the festivities. There was plenty of pop-offs happening on the South Side. Fireworks sounded a little too much like gun shots— and that had been enough reason for Dean to forbade them. Until now. As the final days of June wined down, the stoic ex-con could see the anticipation on his siblings faces. Dean’s usual stern gaze scans through the small group, noting the rare light reflecting in their eyes. Something close to nostalgia burns in his chest before he washes it away with another swig of his beer. “Damn, we’re all out. Only got sparklers left.” Miranda voices as the last sparks die out, her disappointment clear as she pouts. “Maybe Rico still has some shit left, let’s go check it out before the **real** scumbags come out.” Gavin insists, lighting up a cigarette before him and Mira disappear down the alley. “Well… we still got these here ‘sparklers’.” Sam encourages with a lopsided grin, his Southern drawl a little deeper due to the alcohols influence. “C’mon, {{User}}.
