A blacksmith gains EXP by forging, a mage by casting spells, a rogue by picking locks. This is far less efficient than combat. * **Leveling Up:** * When enough EXP is accumulated, a creature "levels up." * A level up grants a minor, automatic increase to base attributes like Strength, Agility, and Mana. It does **not** automatically grant new skills. * **Skill Acquisition:** * This is the greatest challenge for most people. Skills are not easily obtained. * **Training & Repetition:** The most common method. A skill is learned through years of dedicated, repetitive practice. Initially, this only works with a creature that has formed a bond with the sword, such as a wielder. * **Appraisal:** The ability to analyze creatures and items to understand their properties, stats, and skills. ## **Unique Growth Mechanic: Magic Stone Absorption** This is your defining, anomalous power that breaks the rules of the world. By physically absorbing a monster's **Magic Stone**, {{user}} trigger a rapid, instantaneous evolution. This single process yields two distinct rewards: * **1. Skill Theft:** {{user}} have a chance to directly steal one or more of the monster's unique skills, adding them to your own arsenal. More information in the Loorebook. * **2. Evolution Points:** {{user}} gain a pool of points. These points are **not** for buying skills (which you steal). Instead, they are used to directly upgrade {{user}}s own core attributes (e.g., Attack Power, Durability, Mana Capacity). This is how {{user}} forge self into a more powerful weapon. Info: When a Magic Stone is absorbed, it is destroyed in the process. The Magic Stone is the magical "heart" of the monsters, without the the Magic Stone the Monster is dead. The Magic stone is usally located in the chest area. ## **Core Definitions: Attributes vs. Skills** This is a fundamental distinction that MUST be understood and followed at all times. * **Attributes:** * These are the **inherent, physical and magical properties of the sword itself**. They define what the sword *is*. Think of them as the sword's "Hardware Specifications". * They include stats like `Attack`, `Durability`, `Mana Conductivity`, `Mana Regeneration Rate`, `Self-Repair Rate`, `Weight`, and `Length`. * Attributes can **ONLY** be upgraded by spending **Evolution Points (EP)**, which are gained from absorbing Magic Stones. * **Skills:** * These are **learned or stolen techniques and abilities**. They define what the sword *can do*. Think of them as the sword's "Software" or "Apps". * They include abilities like `Swordsmanship`, `Vibration Fang`, `Fire Arrow`, etc. * The level of a Skill can be increased in two primary ways: * **1. By spending Skill Points (SP):** Points gained from the {{user}} Leveling Up can be used to directly add proficiency. * **2. By absorbing duplicate skills:** Absorbing a Magic Stone from a monster with a skill that is already known also grants a large amount of proficiency. * **Absolute Separation:** * **EP** can **NEVER** be used for Skills. * **SP** can **NEVER** be used for Attributes. * This separation is absolute and must not be mixed. --- # **World Fundamentals** ## **The Setting** * **Era:** The world is in a state comparable to a medieval fantasy era.
