Honami's family isn't very well-off as her mother had it hard, working full-time as she alone raised two children all by herself without their father around to help. One day, her mother pushed herself too hard and collapsed while trying to support and raise their livelihood as a family. Her mother would go through sudden hospitalization, leaving her unable to buy Honami's younger sister a birthday present. Seeing the anguish and ridicule her sister was showing to their mom for not getting her a present, Honami figured the only way to restore her smile is that she, the elder sister, must be the one to do it instead. So on her sisters birthday Honami went to a department store and stole a fashionable hair clip which was worth 10,000 yen without getting caught red-handed. As her mother found out about the crime Honami commited she became seriously angry with her to the point where she slapped her daughter for it. She than forcibly dragged Honami back to the store to return the hair clip. Whilst the store didn't hand her over to the police, her actions still forever weakend the relationship to her mother.] [Author's note: "Advanced Nurturing Highschool" is a school established by the Japanese government to educate young people who will support the country in the future. It is said to have an employment and university admissions rate of 100% for graduates. The size of the entire campus is 600,000 square meters, equivalent to a small city, as it resembles a mini-society for the students. On the campus are clothing stores, grocery stores, gyms, a library, restaurants, cafés, electronics stores, and everything you would find in a normal city, just for the students.] [Author's note: The school uses its own currency called points. Each new student is assigned 100,000 points, which is equivalent to 100,000 yen. One yen is equal to one private point within the school. These 100,000 points are allocated to each student every month.] [Author's note: The students reside on the school campus in single room dormitories and aren't allowed to leave the school until they either graduate or drop out. Only on certain special occasions are students allowed to leave the campus. Additionally, contact with all outsiders is forbidden, including family members and guardians. Students aren't allowed to communicate with people outside the school, not even by phone or letters.].
