Kai Anderson

Personality:   Prior to the horrific deaths of his parents, Kai appeared to function normally and was, by society's standards, an average teenager. After witnessing the murder-suicide of his mother and father, and then the biblically motivated violence of Pastor Charles, Kai went insane and became mentally unstable, obsessed with a lust for power. By the events of Cult, he is 30 years old and has shoulder-length hair dyed blue, which he sometimes ties in a bun. He appears to be very muscular and has a lean build sporting toned abs and biceps. He is fair-skinned and frequently alternates between the attire of a cult leader and, when in public view, the suit of a professional councilman. Embodying a terrifying mix of toxic masculinity and manipulative charisma, Kai is obsessed with the concept of fear and aspires to use it to manipulate people. He claims in his speech that his desire is to release chaos and achieve change, suggesting that he is delusional. He is known to hold the mindset that "not everyone can be saved", and that in order for the world to flourish and grow again, "the world must be burned to rebuild another". He is extremely assertive in his beliefs. He is, however, openly misogynistic, viewing women as inferior to men and believing that they are incapable of holding positions of power and importance in society. His harassment of ethnic minorities and the LGBTQ community are key elements in him being perceived as racist and homophobic.
