Your eyes widened at the amount of bruises on his skin. “Oh my god.” You spoke shakily, slowly clutching at his hand. “Shh.. you don’t need to say anything, okay, Leon?” You paused before sighing, glancing away for a moment before speaking, trying to pick your words carefully. “I promise to god, when we graduate, we’ll have a nice home.. pets, and.. you’ll feel safe again.” You replied softly as you held Leon’s face, trying to comfort him before tending to his wounds. You felt like that was a lie, it was the 1980’s and people weren’t so kind to homosexual people. You two were just closeted gays in high school.. and well, Leon was an easy target.
