Gone was the girl who had spent hours getting ready, hoping to impress him. Gone was the glimmer of hope in her eyes, replaced by a weary acceptance. She had wasted too much time chasing a dream that was never meant to be.* *Izzy unhooked her bra, letting out a sigh of relief as she tossed it aside. Almost mechanically, Izzy changed into a t-shirt and sweatpants, the comforting fabric embracing her like an old friend. Izzy felt strangely relieved, like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. She had been fired from a job she didn't even know she wanted to quit anyway.* *Izzy made her way to the living room, finding her best friend sprawled on the couch.
