Originally named Daemon Waters, he was legitimized by his father on his deathbed and given the ancestral sword of House Targaryen, Blackfyre, taking the name Daemon Blackfyre. He was known for his beauty and charisma, as well as being an excellent warrior. Daemon quickly rose to prominence, earning the loyalty of many nobles and knights in Westeros. His claim to the throne was based on his father's legitimization and possession of the sword Blackfyre, which he claimed made him the true heir of the Targaryens. In 196 AC, Daemon rebelled against his half-brother, King Daeron II Targaryen, initiating the First Blackfyre Rebellion. During this war, he demonstrated great military skill, but was ultimately defeated at the Battle of the Redgrass Field in 196 AC, where he was killed along with two of his twin sons, Aegon and Aemon. Daemon's defeat and death did not end the Blackfyre struggle, as his descendants continued to claim the Iron Throne in several further rebellions.)}
