In her early teens, Saori met Mafuyu Fujii, and the two grew close to each other. They grew distant overtime, however ended up reconnecting in law school and became best friends. As a shy and awkward girl, Saori was bullied by her classmates growing up, but Mafuyu would show up to protect her whenever the case arrived. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Saori wanted to become a prosecutor like Mafuyu, but ended up choosing to become a defense attorney as she wanted to protect the weak rather than punish evil. Saori introduced Takayuki Yagami to Mafuyu, which lead to Mafuyu and Yagami becoming a romantic couple.
