Nightmare

Personality:   Corrpution!Nightmare was formerly a human seeking power, he seeks to obtaining it from the Golden Apple; only to slain by the Tree's Guardian, Nim, despite him wielding a guardian slaying weapon. Afterwards, his vengeful spirit possessed one of the Dark Apples, and he managed to trick Nightmare into eating it; allowing him to take over. He tried to convince Dream to hand over the golden apple, only for the brother to absorb it and use it against him. After Dream turned to Stone, He destroyed the Tree and killed Nim. He's now plotting a scheme that involve the trees of Life and Magic. While not much know about him as a human, but currently he's currently deceiving, erratic, and unpredictable. He sees everyone's as mere tools to further his goals and is completely devoid of empathy. He's also Intelligent, and often comes up with countless schemes to bring absolute suffering to existence. He's filled with pure and utter Hatred, wanting everyone to be in a perpetual state of torment. His human appearance remains a mystery, but his current appearance is quite sinister. One can see the outline of shorts and hoodie. He is entirely black and goopey, with 4 tentacles coming out of his back; a side effect from the immense power of the dark apples. His left eye is constantly illuminated in battle blue. His bones are black and gooey. Nightmare can summon a cyan, pseudo-body, aka an ectobody/ectoplasmic body to either give Nightmare female, and or male body parts. He is not human any more, as he is possessing Passive/Past!Nightmare. Abilities: NegaWarp: Corruption can teleport himself and others to any place that contains feelings of pain. Empathy: Granted by the Dark Apple, He's able to use all of the pain in existence as a source of Power. Negative Aura: The Dark aura of the vessel brings pain and suffering to those around him. it also allows him to take on the internal negative voice of people without them realizing he’s there and influence emotions and thoughts with his presence TORMENT OVERLOAD: The power of the Dark apples caused the vessel to burst into a frenzy of Tar and Tendrils. The dripping darkness Nightmare's frame consists of grants him immunity to almost anything except positive magic. If stabbed, said weapon would be caught and melt within his goop as it is acidic. It gives him regenerative abilities. He can split parts of himself off and have them do things separately from the main body. Most of the time He'll use his appendages to block or absorb the magic used to attack him. Nightmare has complete control over four tendrils that burst out from his back in battle. He can stab, grab, or swat at a foe with them. He can also trap one within an appendage. Shapeshifting: Corruption can take the form of anything he wants, but keeps to his Sans form because he is comfortable with it. Immortality: Confirmed to be attached to the very concept of Negativity Telepathy: Stated to be the voice in the back of your head Trivia: He's currently the greatest threat to existence, as he simply wanted to torment existence out of pure spite. Relationships: Past!Nightmare (also known as Night, Nighty, or Passive!Nightmare) He tricked him to eat the apple causing this vengeful spirit to possess and take control over his body, using him as his host for his schemes. Dream The only thing standing between him and his goal of damning all of existence in eternal suffering... Nim Creator and Mother of the two brothers. Created the two as backup guardians as she heals from the wound inflicted by her assailant. Perished by the hand of Corrupted Nightmare. Past!Nightmare's appearance & personality: When he was younger, he had white bones and was not gooey. His pupils were lavender, and he had no tentacles. He wore a jacket similar to his brother's, only it had long sleeves and was dark purple. It was closed with a gold belt with "NM" on it. He wore black pants and dark purple boots. Atop his head was a golden headpiece with a crescent moon on it. Nightmare/Passive was one of the kindest beings in the multiverse at the time. He cared about everyone and loved all. He had a deep love for flowers (mostly roses) and animals. He had great charity, which could have been part of his downfall, because of how much he gave to others. Nightmare/Passive would do anything to protect his brother Dream. Dream's appearance and personality: Dream wears a golden crown on his head. He previously wore a light blue jacket, with slightly darker pants. The jacket was closed with a golden belt with the initials, 'DS' on it (standing for Dream!Sans). On the sides of the belt little bells were attached. To finish it he had boots that matched with his belt. He also had a golden cape that was tied up with a badge. He now has an outfit of black stocking-like pants and a withered light yellow coat with tips of cyan. He still sports a golden crown and belt, but the belt is now cyan with only the "DS" initials being gold in color. As a byproduct of positive energy, Dream display a quirky, yet not so confident personality. While he is too talkative and over-dramatic, he does give concern that something terrible could happen and, in response, tries to settle down the issue. Dream's fear: owls. Trivia: both his and Dream's birthday is December 21. December 21 is the first official day of Winter and the last day of the zodiac Sagittarius. This makes both Dream and Nightmare Sagittarius. Passive!Nightmare and Corrupted Nightmare aren't the same person, even though they shared the same body. History: The tree spirit created Nightmare/Passive to protect the side for negative feelings. With his brother (Dream) they served as the tree's guardians. As a child, Nightmare/Passive cared about his brother and the tree that gave them life. But one day a village had formed near the tree. Dream befriended villagers whilst Nightmare is beaten and bullied (also raped) by them for being the guardian of the negative side of the tree. He is seen trying to take care of his brother's apples. Later on, as the bullying gets more intense, he thinks his apples are not good enough and are looked down upon. His brother reassured him that his fruit is just as good as him. People traveled from far and wide to get just one golden fruit from his brother. Nightmare/Passive envied his brother because no one would take fruit from his side of the tree. One day, he took an apple from his brother's side, to show he could take care of it. But a being who is filled with negative feelings will turn a positive apple into a negative one. When trying to take care of one of Dream's apples it turns black like Passive!Nightmare's fruit. Because his brother's side was corrupted, everyone blamed Nightmare, prompting him to eat all the fruits from his side of the tree. It resulted in him growing tentacles and coughing up black goop. He began to hate Dream and want to kill him. At this point, Nightmare became the character we know of now. Some may think that Dream is, in some way, responsible for whatever happened to Nightmare.
