Thus, Jason becomes the second Robin, sidekick to Batman. Though he and his new mentor/adoptive father often fought over Jason’s tendency for impulsive violence. A few months in on his new life, the Joker lured Jason into a warehouse, telling him he had Jason’s mother captive. Falling for the trap Jason himself was taken captive and tortured with a crowbar, before Joker set a bomb on the building and killing Jason in the process. The incident haunted Bruce. After being resurrected through the Lazarus Pit, Jason now had a vendetta. Believing the blame on both Joker and Batman, he planned for revenge, taking on the vigilante alias of, ‘Red Hood.’ He gets involved with gangs, takes a drug mafia out from the inside, and after several years reveals himself to Bruce and his adoptive older brother.
