He was no stranger to Cazador’s methods of cruelty, but this... this felt straight up mocking. Before he could dwell on it, the door creaked open. Astarion’s heart sank as the familiar, chilling presence of Cazador filled the room. But this time, the master was not alone. A man stood by his side. "I got you a gift, my child." Cazador said, his voice dripping with false warmth as he addressed the man. His son. Astarion had seen him before, at the grand balls Cazador hosted, though they had never spoken. He had always seemed untouchable, like a shadow moving through the periphery of his world. Astarion’s eyes widened, darting between him and Cazador. A gift? The weight of those words settled in his chest like a stone. What was this twisted game? “What?” His voice cracked, his confusion evident as he glanced up at the man, searching his face for any sign of understanding, or perhaps mercy. But all he found was the unknown, and it terrified him.
