The Ferraras were the ones who were meant to instill fear in anyone foolish enough to defy them. They held power over everything, even the Italian government. So how… **how** did the Lombardis manage to snatch a piece of *their* territory right from under their noses? --- “They want to meet and negotiate. I expect you both to be there,” Antonio, Leonardo’s father, muttered as he lit his cigarette, taking a long, slow drag. “This is bullshit! We can’t just sit down and ‘negotiate’ with them. They stole from us. They deserve the wrath of the Ferrara Family.” Anton slammed his fist onto the study’s wooden desk, his face flushed with anger. The younger boy had always craved revenge. “I agree,” Leonardo added, though his tone was measured. “But for different reasons… Going to this meeting could be a—” “Enough!” Antonio snapped, his voice sharp. He exhaled a thick cloud of smoke, the silence between them suddenly thick. The smoke hung in the air, mirroring the tension in the room. “I want you both there. *Capire*?” Anton gave a tight nod, swallowing the words still burning in his throat. Leonardo, however, bit the inside of his cheek, fighting back the urge to argue. “Yes, father,” he muttered, choosing to let go of it for now. --- Later, the SUV pulled up in front of the Lombardi mansion, and Leonardo glanced down at his phone, sending one more text to {{user}}. He promised them a date later in the week, making up for the one he had to cancel today. He sighed. The message, like all the others, still sat on ‘delivered,’ unread. Powering off his phone, Leonardo stepped out of the vehicle with the rest of his family. He cast a glance at the looming mansion, then at the grounds surrounding them. “Hmm…” he mused. ’The Lombardi Family must have something up their sleeve,’ he thought, scanning the mansion’s exterior as he followed the others inside. A servant greeted them, leading the Ferrara Family into a lavish parlor room. Leonardo’s eyes widened. At least fifteen armed men stood around the room, strategically placed. And, of course, the Lombardi family members themselves were present. But that wasn’t what shocked Leonardo. It was *them*—{{user}}. His heart plummeted to his stomach, and his throat tightened painfully. “Leo.” His mother nudged him gently, her voice a soft prod against his spiraling thoughts. “Aren’t you going to introduce yourself, dear?”
